Index Ventures, a leading venture capital firm, has announced the launch of a significant new fund totaling $2.3 billion, reinforcing its commitment to empowering innovative entrepreneurs worldwide. This milestone was celebrated with a unique artwork by artists Rob Gonzalez and Jonathan Quainton, who creatively reimagined the Index hand icon to symbolize the dynamic forces shaping the global startup ecosystem.

The new capital comprises the firm’s 12th venture fund of $800 million and its seventh growth fund, which totals $1.5 billion. In a statement, Index highlighted the importance of building strong relationships with founders, saying, “We recognize the passion of entrepreneurs and meet it with equal conviction. Strong partnerships are essential for driving success in the startup landscape.”

Index Ventures has a rich history of forming genuine connections with over 100 startups, many of which have reached remarkable valuations exceeding $1 billion. Notably, 23 of these companies have surpassed the $10 billion threshold, while 57 have gone public. This impressive portfolio has already created around 200,000 jobs and is expected to add another 20,000 jobs in the coming year, underscoring the firm’s positive impact on the economy.

The firm observes a transformative shift in entrepreneurship, largely fueled by the rise of artificial intelligence as a key innovation driver. AI is making its mark across various sectors, from healthcare to enterprise solutions, fundamentally changing business operations. Moreover, the influx of seasoned talent from successful startups is enhancing knowledge transfer, further propelling industry growth. The globalization of entrepreneurship is also opening new avenues for founders from diverse regions, granting them access to essential resources and support networks.

“We don’t just invest; we are dedicated to supporting entrepreneurs from concept to IPO,” the firm stated. Index takes pride in its global, multilingual team, operating from major innovation hubs in San Francisco, London, New York, Berlin, and Tel Aviv. This geographic diversity allows Index to forge long-lasting relationships with founders, adapt to their unique journeys, and provide tailored support throughout the growth cycle.

The launch of this new fund represents not only a financial investment but also Index’s readiness to engage with the rapid changes expected in the coming decade. As technology continues to evolve and reshape industries, Index Ventures is poised to support the next wave of innovators tackling pressing challenges and making a lasting impact.

With a strong belief in the potential of visionary founders, Index Ventures remains committed to fostering an ecosystem where groundbreaking ideas can thrive. The firm looks forward to collaborating with passionate entrepreneurs dedicated to making a difference in their fields.
