Helio AI Raises $1 Million Seed to Scale AI-Powered Recruiting Platform for Frontline Hiring

Helio AI, the U.S.-based startup developing an AI-powered recruiting platform aimed at automating high-volume and frontline hiring, has announced the successful close of a $1 million Seed funding round as it prepares to scale its intelligent hiring tools globally. The investment, completed in November 2025, marks a pivotal moment for the Wilmington, Delaware-headquartered company as it builds on early traction with international customers and expands the reach of its AI Recruiting Agent across fast-growing markets.

The funding round was led by SABAH.fund, an early-stage venture capital fund with a focus on technology companies addressing systemic challenges. Joining SABAH.fund in backing Helio AI were DOMiNO Ventures, Axiom and Tetrad VC, along with angel investor Bas Godska, founder of Acrobator Ventures and an experienced backer of high-growth SaaS companies.

Helio AI was founded to tackle longstanding inefficiencies in the recruitment process, particularly for enterprises that manage large applicant volumes and frontline hiring cycles. The company’s platform combines a multilingual AI Recruiting Agent capable of chatting, reasoning and acting in local languages with gamified psychometric assessments designed to automate up to 70% of repetitive recruiter tasks. By instantly screening, ranking and evaluating candidates, the solution helps employers accelerate hiring accuracy and reduce time-to-hire while maintaining fairness and consistency in decision-making.

In addition to the seed round, Helio AI previously raised a $350,000 pre-seed round from angel investor Teimuraz Jashi, the Georgian Business Angel Network (Axel), and 500 Eurasia. That early capital enabled the team to build its core AI technology and secure initial market validation, with hundreds of international brands across seven countries using the platform.

Helio AI’s leadership describes the platform as a response to one of HR’s most persistent challenges — the manual, repetitive and often biased nature of frontline hiring, especially in sectors with high turnover. By offering advanced AI automation that interacts conversationally with candidates and integrates with existing hiring workflows, the company aims to redefine how organizations manage large-scale hiring processes.

The new funding will be used to accelerate global expansion, enhance product capabilities and support further adoption of Helio’s AI Recruiting Agent. With this investment, the company plans to deepen its footprint outside its core markets, refine its algorithms to improve predictive performance and bolster its engineering and customer success teams.

Investors in the round highlighted both the strength of Helio AI’s technology and the depth of the founding team. SABAH.fund emphasized the company’s alignment with its mission to back founders solving large-scale problems, noting that AI-driven hiring automation represents a significant opportunity to improve efficiency and fairness across industries. DOMiNO Ventures cited Helio’s consistent execution and transparent communication as key factors in its decision to participate, while angel investor Bas Godska brought broader SaaS expertise to the cap table.

Helio AI’s platform integrates an intelligent chat-based interface with game-based psychometric testing to deliver richer insights than conventional resume screening tools. This approach enables recruiters to gain a deeper understanding of candidate capabilities early in the process, while reducing administrative burden on internal teams. As a result, Helio AI has demonstrated traction in emerging markets where automation and multilingual support are especially valuable.

The company’s founders stress the importance of choosing investors who share their culture and long-term vision. According to co-founder and CEO Iako Jikia, the round reflects both trust in the team’s ability to build category-defining software and a shared belief among investors in the transformative potential of AI within the HR technology sector.

Helio AI’s journey from pre-seed to a priced seed round within a relatively short timeframe highlights the increasing investor appetite for AI-native solutions that address real business challenges. As enterprises continue to grapple with talent shortages and inefficient hiring pipelines, AI tools that streamline decision-making and improve operational outcomes are gaining prominence.

With the fresh capital secured, Helio AI is now poised to scale its AI Recruiting Agent to new geographies and customer segments, while continuing to innovate its platform and deliver measurable value to hiring teams worldwide. The company’s focus on automation, fairness and data-driven insights positions it as a noteworthy entrant in the fast-evolving HR tech landscape, where AI-augmented solutions are increasingly part of strategic workforce initiatives.
