Gecko Robotics Secures $100 Million in Series C Funding

Gecko Robotics, a leading company utilizing AI-powered software and advanced robotics for the maintenance and development of critical global infrastructure, has revealed an extension of its Series C funding round, elevating the total Series C raise to $173 million.

In this extension, Gecko is incorporating representatives from US Innovative Technology Fund (USIT) and Founders Fund onto its corporate board. Both Founders Fund and USIT, prominent investors in defense technology, are joining following Gecko’s recent announcement of assisting the U.S. Navy in expediting the manufacturing process for the $132 billion Columbia-class Sub program.

Gecko Robotics CEO, Jake Loosararian, stated, “This investment aims to accelerate our efforts in ensuring the readiness of critical assets vital for national security. We take pride in expanding our collaborations with the US Military, from expediting ship maintenance cycles to contributing to the development of next-gen military equipment.”

Since the initial Series C announcement, Gecko has witnessed a surge in demand from the U.S. military and allies. The company inked a deal with the U.S. Air Force for modernizing strategic nuclear missile silos and has expanded efforts with the U.S. Navy to hasten maintenance cycles for the surface fleet. Last month, Gecko introduced Cantilever, its AI-driven software platform, enhancing decision-making speed, notably utilized by the Navy. The company’s recent initiative to modernize the manufacturing and construction process for the Columbia-class program aligns with this trajectory.

Thomas Tull, Chairman of USIT, emphasized, “Preserving American military superiority necessitates not just maintaining but also innovating our vital defense infrastructure. Gecko’s groundbreaking work with robots and AI-driven software is advancing a new era in military readiness, crucial for maintaining national safety and fulfilling America’s global responsibilities.”

Trae Stephens, Partner at Founders Fund, added, “Gecko Robotics is addressing an underappreciated challenge. Maintenance often goes unnoticed but is pivotal for possessing military assets essential for national security. American innovation, led by Gecko, ensures readiness of our relied-upon assets, both today and in the future.”

The board seats will be held by USIT Managing Director Gaetano Crupi, co-founder of Cabin Technologies, and Trae Stephens of Founders Fund, who is also the Co-Founder and Executive Chairman of Anduril Industries.
