Wayco Raises $1.5M Seed Funding Backed by Y Combinator, Sequoia Capital, Groq, and ElevenLabs to Automate Legal Intake with AI
Wayco, a New York–based AI legal technology startup building an autonomous client intake and case orchestration platform for law firms, has raised approximately $1.5 million in early-stage funding as it scales its AI-powered “legal operator” system for personal injury and medical-legal workflows.
The round includes participation from Y Combinator, which backed the company through its Winter 2026 batch and provided early seed capital alongside accelerator support, technical mentorship, and access to its global startup ecosystem. Additional investors in Wayco’s broader seed round include Sequoia Capital, Inovo Venture Partners, Groq, and ElevenLabs, according to company and accelerator disclosures.
Founded in 2025 by Iqbol Temirkhojaev, Wayco is developing an AI-driven “24/7 operator” for law firms that automates client intake, referral routing, and case management workflows. The platform is designed to replace traditional phone-based intake systems with an AI interface that can respond to clients in real time, capture case details, and route cases to appropriate legal teams or partner firms.
Wayco operates in the rapidly growing legal AI and med-legal automation market, where firms handling personal injury and mass tort cases rely heavily on manual intake processes, phone coordination, and fragmented case management tools. The company’s system aims to unify these workflows into a single AI orchestration layer that handles communication, qualification, and referral distribution across law firm networks.
The platform is designed as a “legal operating system,” integrating with existing case management software used by law firms while also building a proprietary referral network across participating legal practices. By automating intake and routing decisions, Wayco seeks to reduce response times, improve lead conversion rates, and increase the efficiency of case distribution within legal networks.
According to publicly available company data, Wayco’s system focuses heavily on the personal injury sector in the United States, where high volumes of inbound client inquiries often require rapid response times and structured qualification processes. The company claims its AI operator can significantly reduce administrative workload while improving consistency in client engagement and case handling.
The involvement of Y Combinator has been central to Wayco’s early funding structure, providing both capital and validation through its accelerator program. The participation of venture firms such as Sequoia Capital and Inovo Venture Partners reflects growing investor interest in AI-native legal infrastructure tools, particularly those targeting high-volume litigation workflows.
Strategic participation from AI infrastructure companies such as Groq and ElevenLabs also signals alignment with broader trends in voice AI and real-time inference systems, which are critical components of Wayco’s intake automation platform.
The funding will be used to expand engineering development, improve AI voice and reasoning capabilities, and scale deployments with law firms across the United States. The company is also investing in building out its referral orchestration network, which aims to connect firms across regions and create a more efficient distribution system for legal cases.
Wayco is part of a broader wave of AI startups targeting professional services automation, particularly in industries where communication-heavy workflows dominate operations. By combining voice AI, case management logic, and referral networks, the company is positioning itself as an infrastructure layer for modern legal operations.
With its early-stage funding backed by Y Combinator, Sequoia Capital, Inovo Venture Partners, Groq, and ElevenLabs, Wayco is now focused on scaling its platform, expanding law firm partnerships, and strengthening its AI-driven legal intake and referral system across the U.S. legal market.
