Traverse Secures Fresh Funding to Accelerate Growth of Intelligent Automation Platform

Traverse, a Cheshire-based provider of intelligent automation solutions for the travel and leisure industries, has secured additional funding as part of a larger investment round aimed at accelerating the growth of its proprietary automation technology and expanding its market reach.

The latest round includes a £650,000 investment from Maven Capital Partners through NPIF Maven Equity Finance, alongside commitments from the company’s management team and travel industry executive Mal Barritt, chairman of Traverse and chief executive of Traveltek. The financing follows an earlier investment made in 2023 and brings total support received through the Northern Powerhouse Investment Fund-backed initiative to more than £1 million.

Founded in 2007, Traverse develops intelligent automation software designed to help businesses streamline repetitive back-office processes. The company has built a strong presence in the travel sector, where its technology is used to automate operational workflows, reduce manual effort, and improve efficiency for customers. Over time, the business has expanded its capabilities and invested in developing proprietary automation tools that can be deployed across a range of business functions.

According to the company, the latest funding will be used to accelerate the development and commercialization of its automation platform, which is designed to make intelligent automation more accessible to both small and medium-sized enterprises and larger organizations. The technology is offered through a consumption-based model intended to lower barriers to adoption and enable customers to scale automation initiatives according to their needs.

The new investment arrives during a period of growth for Traverse. Since receiving its earlier backing, the company has expanded its customer base, strengthened several internal functions, and increased recurring software revenue. Management has also made a series of strategic appointments across sales, development, and finance as it prepares for the next phase of expansion.

Investors highlighted the company’s performance since the previous funding round as an important factor in the decision to provide additional capital. Traverse has continued to strengthen its position within the travel technology ecosystem while developing solutions that address growing demand for operational efficiency and digital transformation.

For Maven, the transaction represents a follow-on investment in a portfolio company that has demonstrated meaningful commercial progress. The firm has emphasized its strategy of supporting technology-driven businesses through multiple stages of growth, providing both capital and operational guidance as companies scale.

Traverse’s management team said the funding will enable the company to accelerate product innovation, broaden market adoption, and expand the reach of its intelligent automation offering. The company believes automation remains a significant opportunity across travel and leisure markets, where businesses continue to seek ways to reduce costs, improve productivity, and manage increasingly complex operational processes.

The funding is also expected to support further product development as Traverse continues investing in advanced automation capabilities. The company’s technology is designed to help organizations automate time-consuming tasks while maintaining flexibility and control over business processes. By reducing manual workloads, customers can focus resources on higher-value activities and customer-facing initiatives.

Industry demand for automation software has grown steadily as organizations look for tools that can improve efficiency without requiring large-scale system overhauls. Traverse aims to capitalize on this trend by offering solutions that are easier to implement and scale than traditional enterprise automation deployments.

With fresh capital secured and continued support from Maven Capital Partners, Traverse is positioning itself for sustained growth. The company plans to build on recent momentum by expanding its technology platform, deepening relationships with existing customers, and pursuing new opportunities across the travel and broader leisure sectors. As businesses continue to prioritize automation and digital transformation, Traverse believes it is well placed to capture a larger share of the market and strengthen its role as a technology partner for organizations seeking operational efficiency.
