Sim Raises $7 Million Series A to Power Visual, Open-Source AI Agent Workflows

Sim, a San Francisco–based artificial intelligence infrastructure startup, has raised $7 million in a Series A funding round, marking a significant milestone in the company’s growth as demand accelerates for tools that simplify the creation and deployment of AI-powered workflows. The funding underscores growing investor confidence in Sim’s visual, open-source approach to building agent-based systems that bridge the gap between no-code tools and complex engineering frameworks.

The Series A round was led by Standard Capital, an early-stage venture firm that backs companies building foundational technology platforms. Additional participation came from Perplexity Fund, which focuses on frontier AI investments, SV Angel, a long-standing supporter of early-stage technology startups, and Y Combinator, the startup accelerator that included Sim in its Spring 2025 cohort. The round also included backing from well-known angel investors from the technology ecosystem, reflecting broad confidence in the company’s long-term vision.

Founded in 2025 by Emir Karabeg and Waleed Latif, Sim was built around the idea that developing AI systems should not require choosing between rigid visual tools and highly technical code-first solutions. The company’s platform offers a visual canvas that allows users to design, connect, and deploy AI agents and workflows through a drag-and-drop interface. This design enables developers and teams to move more quickly from experimentation to production while maintaining flexibility and control over system behavior.

Sim’s platform is centered on agentic workflows, which allow multiple AI components to reason, retrieve data, and act together to complete complex tasks.
