Sats Terminal Raises $1.7M Pre-Seed Led by Coinbase Ventures and Draper Associates to Build Bitcoin DeFi Aggregation Layer
Sats Terminal, a Bitcoin-native DeFi aggregation platform building infrastructure to simplify trading, borrowing, and yield generation across fragmented Bitcoin ecosystems, has raised $1.7 million in a pre-seed funding round as it looks to expand its liquidity routing technology and scale adoption across the emerging Bitcoin finance sector.
The company operates as a unified interface that aggregates decentralized exchanges, lending protocols, bridges, and yield opportunities into a single execution layer for Bitcoin holders. Its platform is designed to solve fragmentation across Bitcoin DeFi by automatically routing transactions through the most efficient paths, enabling users to swap assets, borrow stablecoins against BTC, and access yield opportunities without navigating multiple protocols or interfaces.
The pre-seed round was led by Coinbase Ventures, the venture arm of Coinbase, and Draper Associates, the early-stage investment firm founded by Tim Draper. The round also included participation from Draper Dragon, UTXO Management, BitcoinFi Accelerator, Core Chain Ventures, Sats Ventures, Delta Blockchain Fund, Tenzor Capital, and 3Commas Capital, along with additional angel investors from the crypto ecosystem.
Founded in 2024 by CEO Stanislav Havryliuk and CTO Rishabh Java, Sats Terminal was created to address what the team describes as one of the core inefficiencies in Bitcoin-native DeFi: fragmentation across protocols and user experience complexity. The platform aggregates liquidity across multiple decentralized exchanges and financial protocols, allowing users to access optimized rates for swaps, lending, and yield strategies through a single interface.
Sats Terminal’s infrastructure is built around order-splitting algorithms and routing technology that automatically divides transactions across multiple liquidity sources to minimize slippage and improve execution efficiency. In addition, the platform integrates bridging and staking functions, enabling users to move assets across networks and deploy capital into yield-generating strategies without manually interacting with multiple decentralized applications.
The capital raised in the pre-seed round is being used to expand engineering efforts, improve routing algorithms, and deepen integrations with Bitcoin-native DeFi protocols and application partners. The company is also focused on growing its SDK and widget infrastructure, which allows third-party platforms to embed swap, lending, and yield features directly into their own applications, extending Sats Terminal’s reach across the broader crypto ecosystem.
Early integrations already include Bitcoin ecosystem applications and Runes-related platforms, reflecting Sats Terminal’s strategy of becoming a foundational liquidity and execution layer for Bitcoin DeFi. By providing infrastructure rather than a single consumer-facing application, the company aims to support both end users and developers building on top of Bitcoin’s expanding financial stack.
Investor interest in the company reflects growing institutional attention on Bitcoin as a productive financial asset rather than solely a store of value. Backers such as Coinbase Ventures and Draper Associates have highlighted the opportunity in building infrastructure that unlocks liquidity and usability within Bitcoin’s evolving DeFi landscape.
With its latest funding, Sats Terminal is positioning itself as a key aggregation layer in Bitcoin finance, aiming to unify fragmented protocols into a single, seamless execution experience while expanding its footprint across the rapidly developing Bitcoin DeFi ecosystem.
