Rosella Raises $3.7 Million Pre-Seed Funding to Transform Commercial Insurance Brokerage With AI

Rosella, an AI-native commercial insurance brokerage startup, has raised $3.7 million in pre-seed funding to modernize insurance workflows and help brokers serve small and mid-sized businesses more efficiently. The company is developing an artificial intelligence-powered platform designed to automate repetitive processes within commercial insurance, including document analysis, policy comparisons, submissions, and other time-intensive brokerage operations.

The funding round was led by Peak XV Partners and Intact Private Capital, the investment arm of Intact Financial Corporation. The financing provides Rosella with capital to expand its AI platform, grow its team, and accelerate adoption among commercial insurance brokers serving businesses with complex coverage needs.

Founded in 2025 by Sean Stuart and Chris Dwyer, Rosella is building an AI-native insurance brokerage designed to address inefficiencies across the commercial insurance market. The company focuses on helping businesses navigate complex insurance requirements while enabling brokers to improve speed, accuracy, and service quality through automation.

Commercial insurance brokerage remains a highly manual industry, with brokers often spending significant time collecting information, reviewing policy documents, comparing coverage options, and completing submissions across multiple insurance carriers. Rosella aims to address these challenges by combining artificial intelligence with brokerage expertise, creating technology that can automate operational tasks while allowing brokers to focus more on advising clients and managing relationships.

The company’s platform uses AI to support key insurance workflows, including document intelligence, policy analysis, coverage comparison, and automated submissions. Rosella has developed tools designed to analyze insurance documents, identify coverage gaps, and streamline interactions with insurance carriers. The company has also built a multi-portal submission agent designed to automate submissions across more than 100 carrier portals, reducing administrative work for brokers.

The newly raised capital will support Rosella’s efforts to expand its technology platform and grow its operations in the United States. The company plans to increase its engineering and business teams while continuing to develop AI capabilities that can improve the commercial insurance experience for brokers and customers.

Rosella’s founders believe artificial intelligence can significantly reshape the insurance brokerage industry by improving efficiency without replacing the expertise of professional brokers. Instead of eliminating the human role in insurance advisory services, the company is focused on creating AI-powered tools that allow brokers to deliver faster and more personalized support to clients.

Chief Executive Officer Sean Stuart previously worked in venture capital before launching Rosella with Chris Dwyer, who has experience as a founding engineer at Constantinople and as an AI lead at Accenture. The founders identified commercial insurance as an industry where advanced AI systems could create substantial improvements due to the complexity of existing workflows and the large volume of information brokers manage daily.

Investor participation from Peak XV Partners and Intact Private Capital reflects growing interest in applying artificial intelligence to traditional financial services industries. Peak XV Partners, formerly known as Sequoia Capital India, has invested in numerous technology companies across sectors, while Intact Private Capital brings strategic insurance industry expertise through its connection with Intact Financial Corporation.

Rosella has also emphasized its ambition to build an insurance platform capable of supporting brokers across the United States. Following its launch, the company expanded licensing coverage across more than 40 states and began helping businesses manage commercial insurance requirements through its AI-driven brokerage model.

The funding comes as insurance technology companies increasingly explore artificial intelligence as a way to improve productivity, reduce operational costs, and enhance customer experiences. While previous generations of insurtech companies focused largely on digital distribution and online purchasing, newer AI-driven platforms are targeting deeper operational improvements by automating complex professional workflows.

Rosella is positioning itself within this next wave of insurance innovation by combining brokerage services with AI automation. The company’s approach focuses on using technology to simplify complex insurance processes while maintaining the expertise and relationship-driven service that businesses rely on when purchasing commercial coverage.

With $3.7 million in pre-seed financing from Peak XV Partners and Intact Private Capital, Rosella is positioned to accelerate development of its AI-powered commercial insurance platform. As businesses continue seeking more efficient ways to manage complex risks, the company aims to establish itself as a technology-driven brokerage capable of delivering faster, smarter, and more transparent insurance solutions.
