Revalia Bio, a biotechnology company focused on transforming drug development through innovative human data trials, has raised $14.5 million in a seed funding round. This investment brings the company’s total funding to $19.5 million. The round was co-led by America’s Frontier Fund and Sierra Ventures, with participation from Roger Ferguson, former Vice Chair of the U.S. Federal Reserve and a member of the Board of Directors at Alphabet, and other existing investors.

Founded in 2023 as a spinout from Yale University, Revalia Bio aims to address the high failure rates in drug development by providing early, predictive insights from real, functional human organs. The company’s platform, known as Human Data Trials, involves conducting rigorous testing on perfused human organs maintained under clinical conditions. These organs are donated with informed consent from families and would otherwise be unusable for clinical transplantation. By utilizing this approach, Revalia Bio seeks to improve the accuracy of preclinical data, reduce development costs, and eliminate risks to living patients.

The company’s innovative approach has garnered significant interest from the pharmaceutical industry. Since its commercial launch in 2023, Revalia Bio has quadrupled its revenue and signed two of the world’s top 10 pharmaceutical companies as customers. Additionally, the company has developed a first-of-its-kind human lung cancer model in partnership with LifeShare of Oklahoma and achieved key breakthroughs in organ perfusion, including a four-day kidney protocol.

Revalia Bio’s platform integrates data from perfused human organs, donor medical histories, and high-resolution digital analytics through its Human Data Stack. This unified approach delivers deeply translatable insights across discovery, safety, biodistribution, and efficacy. Through partnerships with academic medical centers and organ procurement organizations, Revalia repurposes donated, non-transplantable organs into powerful research systems that accelerate therapeutic discovery.

Looking ahead, Revalia Bio plans to utilize the new funding to accelerate the development of its platform and expand its offerings. The company aims to broaden its focus beyond kidney disease and oncology to include other therapeutic areas and applications, such as medical device testing. By providing human data trials as a companion to existing clinical trials, Revalia Bio seeks to support adaptive trial designs and improve the efficiency and success rates of drug development.

The support from investors like America’s Frontier Fund and Sierra Ventures underscores the growing recognition of the need for more predictive and human-relevant data in the early stages of drug development. Revalia Bio’s innovative approach has the potential to not only transform clinical trials but also strengthen national health resilience by providing more accurate and timely insights into human biology and disease.

With the backing of esteemed investors and a strong foundation in organ perfusion science, Revalia Bio is well-positioned to lead the way in revolutionizing drug development through the use of human data trials. As the company continues to grow and expand its platform, it aims to make significant contributions to the advancement of personalized medicine and the development of more effective therapies for patients worldwide.
