Thessaloniki-based robotics innovator Progressive Robotics has successfully secured €1.55 million in a seed funding round led by Marathon Venture Capital, with participation from existing investor Genesis Ventures. This investment aims to democratize advanced robotic automation, making it accessible to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) through the company’s AI-powered, no-code platform.

Founded in 2023 by Fotis Dimeas, Marios Kiatos, and Zoe Doulgeri, Progressive Robotics is on a mission to simplify robotic deployment and management. The company’s software allows operators without technical expertise to configure and reprogram robotic arms within minutes, significantly reducing costs and enhancing operational flexibility. This approach enables SMEs to leverage automation technologies previously accessible only to larger enterprises.

One of Progressive Robotics’ standout offerings is its mixed-case palletizer, which utilizes machine learning and 3D perception technologies. This system enables robots to adapt in real-time to varying product sizes, shapes, and weights, optimizing space utilization while ensuring stability and safety in fulfillment centers. Implementing this technology has led to up to 20% faster operations and substantial cost savings in sectors such as food production and logistics.

To ensure seamless hardware integration, Progressive Robotics has established partnerships with leading robotic original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), including ABB Robotics, Elite Robots, and Schmalz. The recent funding will be allocated towards enhancing product development, scaling operations, and accelerating international expansion. These efforts are geared towards bringing Amazon-like robotics capabilities to SMEs globally, leveling the playing field between small businesses and larger corporations.

CEO Fotis Dimeas expressed the company’s commitment to removing barriers to robotic adoption, stating, “Our vision is to empower businesses, large and small, by removing the barriers to robotic adoption. This funding will enable us to scale our technology, expand globally, and bring Amazon-like robotics capabilities to SMEs.”

The successful funding round positions Progressive Robotics to continue its trajectory of growth and innovation, aiming to transform the landscape of robotic automation for SMEs worldwide.
