Primepoint Raises $10 Million Seed Round to Expand AI Platform for Construction Intelligence

Primepoint, an artificial intelligence startup building software that understands construction drawings and project documentation, has raised $10 million in seed funding to accelerate development of its construction intelligence platform. The financing will support continued product innovation, team expansion, and customer growth as the company seeks to modernize one of the construction industry’s most document-intensive workflows.

The seed round was completed in two phases. An initial $4 million investment was co-led by Penny Jar Capital and NextView Ventures, followed by a $6 million financing led by Navitas Capital with participation from Penny Jar Capital, NextView Ventures, GS Futures, and Aglaé Ventures. AI researcher Dr. Yann LeCun also participated as an angel investor.

Founded in 2024 and headquartered in San Mateo, California, Primepoint was established by Lubomir Bourdev, Ph.D., and Hamid Palo, both experienced technology entrepreneurs with backgrounds in artificial intelligence and software development. Bourdev previously worked on advanced AI technologies at Meta and co-founded WaveOne, an AI video compression company acquired by Apple, while Palo was an early employee at project management software company Trello. Their combined expertise has been applied to one of the construction industry’s longstanding challenges: managing the enormous volume of drawings and technical documents associated with complex building projects.

Primepoint has developed an AI-native platform capable of reading, interpreting, and connecting construction drawings with related project documentation. The system analyzes linework, symbols, annotations, tags, and references across entire drawing sets while linking that information to specifications, requests for information (RFIs), submittals, and other project records. Rather than simply storing documents, the platform enables users to search, analyze, and generate actionable insights from construction information.

Construction projects often involve hundreds or thousands of technical drawings that change throughout the life of a project. Teams must manually compare revisions, identify inconsistencies, answer questions, and coordinate work across multiple stakeholders. These activities consume significant amounts of time and increase the likelihood of costly errors. Primepoint aims to reduce that burden by automating document interpretation and helping project teams identify relevant information more quickly.

The company’s platform uses large language models together with proprietary algorithms specifically designed to understand construction documentation. Unlike general-purpose AI systems, Primepoint’s technology has been developed to interpret technical drawings and maintain traceability between different project documents. The platform supports workflows including constructability reviews, drafting RFIs, submittal analysis, and drawing navigation, allowing users to work more efficiently while maintaining confidence in the underlying project data.

Primepoint says its technology is already being used on commercial construction projects, including healthcare facilities, residential developments, and student housing. By helping contractors and project teams better understand construction documents, the company seeks to reduce coordination challenges, improve productivity, and minimize delays caused by documentation errors or missing information.

The newly raised capital will be used to expand the platform’s capabilities and grow Primepoint’s customer base among large commercial contractors across the United States. The company also plans to continue investing in engineering talent and artificial intelligence research as it enhances the platform’s ability to understand increasingly complex construction documentation.

Investor support reflects growing confidence in the application of artificial intelligence to construction technology. Firms including Navitas Capital, Penny Jar Capital, NextView Ventures, GS Futures, and Aglaé Ventures have backed the company based on the potential for AI to improve productivity in one of the world’s largest industries. Participation by Dr. Yann LeCun, a pioneer in modern artificial intelligence research, further underscores confidence in the company’s technical approach.

The construction sector has historically been slower than many industries to adopt advanced digital technologies, despite managing highly complex projects involving extensive documentation and coordination. As AI capabilities continue to advance, companies such as Primepoint are seeking to automate knowledge-intensive tasks that previously depended on manual review. By transforming construction drawings into structured, searchable intelligence, the company aims to help contractors make faster decisions, improve collaboration, and reduce project risk.

With its $10 million seed financing, Primepoint is positioned to accelerate development of its AI-powered construction intelligence platform while expanding adoption across commercial construction projects. As demand grows for technologies that improve efficiency and reduce complexity in the built environment, the company plans to continue advancing tools that enable construction professionals to work more effectively with the information that drives every project.
