Pison, a Boston-based company specializing in AI-driven neural sensors, has received an equity investment from Samsung Venture Investment Corporation (Samsung Ventures). The funding will support Pison’s efforts to enhance its neurocognitive assessment technologies, which aim to revolutionize cognitive health monitoring and gesture-based control systems.

The company’s wrist-worn sensors detect and interpret brain signals, providing insights into cognitive functions such as mental acuity, fatigue, anxiety, and neurodegenerative conditions. Pison’s innovative technology has the potential to improve cognitive health management in both consumer wearables and clinical settings, offering users real-time feedback on their mental state.

Founded in 2016, Pison has its roots in the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and has previously received support from the National Science Foundation and the ALS Association. Its groundbreaking work in neural sensing technology has garnered interest from both the healthcare and technology sectors, positioning the company as a leader in the emerging field of neurocognitive performance monitoring.

Pison has also secured funding from the U.S. Department of Defense to develop applications for monitoring traumatic brain injuries and chronic fatigue among military personnel. This collaboration underscores the versatility of Pison’s technology and its potential to enhance cognitive health and performance in high-stress environments such as military operations.

The investment from Samsung Ventures is expected to accelerate Pison’s product development and expand its presence in the consumer wearables market. While the financial terms of the investment have not been disclosed, the strategic partnership aligns with Samsung’s broader interest in integrating advanced health-monitoring technologies into its wearable devices.

Pison’s CEO, Dexter Ang, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, emphasizing that the investment will enable the company to bring its neural sensing technology to a wider audience. With the backing of Samsung Ventures, Pison is well-positioned to drive innovation in cognitive health, offering advanced solutions for mental well-being and human-machine interaction.
