OpenObserve Raises $10 Million Series A to Accelerate AI-Native Observability Platform

OpenObserve has raised $10 million in Series A funding to accelerate the development of its AI-native observability platform, strengthening its position in the rapidly growing market for infrastructure monitoring and operations software. The San Francisco-based company will use the new capital to expand its go-to-market efforts, grow its customer success organization, and continue building artificial intelligence capabilities that help engineering teams detect, investigate, and resolve production issues more efficiently.

The Series A round was led by Nexus Venture Partners and Dell Technologies Capital. Both firms also participated in the company’s earlier seed financing and elected to lead the new round based on OpenObserve’s enterprise traction and continued adoption within the developer community. The investment follows strong momentum for the company’s open-source observability platform, which has gained widespread adoption among organizations seeking cost-effective alternatives to legacy monitoring tools.

Founded by Prabhat Sharma and the OpenObserve team, the company has built a unified observability platform that consolidates logs, metrics, traces, real user monitoring, error tracking, dashboards, and alerting into a single system. Unlike traditional observability stacks that often require multiple separate products, OpenObserve is designed to provide an integrated platform capable of handling modern cloud-native workloads while significantly reducing infrastructure complexity and storage costs.

The latest funding coincides with the launch of OpenObserve’s Observability 3.0 platform, introducing several AI-powered capabilities aimed at helping engineering teams manage increasingly complex cloud environments. Among the new features are AI SRE, an autonomous system that analyzes telemetry data to identify root causes and recommend corrective actions, anomaly detection that identifies potential system issues before they become production incidents, and LLM observability tools that enable organizations to monitor and evaluate generative AI applications. These additions reflect the company’s strategy of combining traditional observability with artificial intelligence to simplify operations for software engineering teams.

As enterprises deploy larger artificial intelligence workloads, the volume and complexity of operational telemetry have increased substantially. Engineering organizations now manage logs, metrics, traces, Kubernetes environments, cloud infrastructure, and AI applications simultaneously, often relying on multiple disconnected monitoring products. OpenObserve seeks to eliminate this fragmentation by offering a unified platform capable of ingesting, storing, querying, and analyzing diverse telemetry data through a single interface. According to the company, this approach reduces operational overhead while lowering storage costs compared with conventional observability solutions.

The company has experienced significant adoption across both the open-source community and enterprise customers. OpenObserve reports that more than 6,000 organizations, including numerous Fortune 100 companies, actively use its platform. Its open-source project has also attracted more than 18,000 GitHub stars, demonstrating strong engagement from developers building cloud-native applications and infrastructure. The platform’s growing community has contributed to its increasing visibility as organizations evaluate alternatives to legacy observability vendors.

The newly raised capital will support continued product innovation while expanding OpenObserve’s commercial organization. The company plans to invest in sales, customer success, and enterprise support as larger organizations deploy the platform across production environments. In addition to expanding its workforce, OpenObserve has increased its infrastructure footprint by launching new cloud regions in the western United States and the European Union while adding Microsoft Azure as a hosting option for customers seeking greater deployment flexibility. The company has also appointed Shani Shoham as Chief Revenue Officer to lead commercial expansion.

Investor backing from Nexus Venture Partners and Dell Technologies Capital reflects growing confidence in infrastructure software supporting artificial intelligence and cloud-native computing. As enterprises move AI applications from experimentation into production, demand has increased for observability platforms capable of monitoring both traditional software systems and generative AI workloads. OpenObserve believes next-generation observability must extend beyond collecting telemetry by incorporating intelligent analysis that helps engineering teams identify problems before they affect users.

The broader observability market continues evolving as organizations modernize technology stacks built around containers, microservices, and distributed cloud applications. At the same time, generative AI introduces additional operational complexity requiring new approaches to monitoring prompts, inference performance, evaluation pipelines, and AI application behavior. OpenObserve’s latest platform enhancements are intended to address these emerging requirements while maintaining compatibility with existing enterprise infrastructure.

With fresh funding from Nexus Venture Partners and Dell Technologies Capital, OpenObserve plans to accelerate development of its AI-native observability platform while expanding its enterprise presence globally. By combining open-source software, unified telemetry management, autonomous AI capabilities, and lower infrastructure costs, the company aims to help engineering organizations build more reliable cloud applications and manage increasingly sophisticated AI systems with greater efficiency and confidence.
