Omeza Raises $8.5 Million Series A to Advance Regenerative Wound Care Platform
Omeza Holdings has raised $8.5 million in Series A funding to accelerate the development and commercialization of its regenerative wound care platform, supporting the company’s efforts to expand clinical programs, strengthen commercial capabilities, and broaden access to its FDA-cleared wound treatment technology. The Sarasota, Florida-based advanced wound care company is focused on developing therapies designed to address complex wounds, including hard-to-heal injuries associated with conditions such as diabetes and vascular disease.
The Series A financing was co-led by Astanor and BluKap Ventures, with participation from Catalyst Investments and historical investors including the Florida Opportunity Fund. The round reflects continued investor interest in Omeza’s approach of combining marine-derived biological compounds with advanced wound care applications.
Omeza is a commercial-stage advanced wound care company developing regenerative products based on marine-derived collagen and lipid technologies. Its lead product, OCM™, is an FDA-cleared wound matrix designed to support tissue regeneration, reduce inflammation, and disrupt bacterial biofilm. The company markets OCM™ as a next-generation alternative for managing difficult-to-heal wounds and improving outcomes for patients requiring advanced wound care solutions.
The newly raised capital will be used to accelerate clinical development efforts, expand commercial operations, and strengthen the company’s clinical and real-world evidence base. Omeza is advancing programs intended to support broader reimbursement coverage for major wound care indications while continuing to grow adoption of its FDA-cleared regenerative platform across healthcare settings.
Founded with a focus on improving wound healing through biologically derived solutions, Omeza has developed technology that uses components sourced from cold-water fish peptides and marine lipids. The company’s approach is based on leveraging naturally occurring biological materials to support the body’s healing processes while addressing challenges associated with chronic and complex wounds.
The funding arrives as healthcare providers continue seeking more effective solutions for chronic wound management. Hard-to-heal wounds represent a significant medical challenge, particularly among aging populations and individuals living with diabetes, vascular disease, and other conditions that can interfere with normal healing processes. Advanced wound care technologies that support tissue regeneration and improve healing outcomes are attracting increased attention from healthcare investors and providers.
Omeza has already established commercial momentum through partnerships aimed at expanding access to its wound care products. The company announced a national commercialization partnership with Advanced Solution to increase availability of OCM™ among healthcare providers across the United States. The partnership is designed to leverage Advanced Solution’s distribution infrastructure alongside Omeza’s regenerative wound care technology.
The latest financing also strengthens Omeza’s institutional investor base. Astanor invests in companies focused on technology and nature-based solutions, while BluKap Ventures focuses on investments connected to ocean innovation and sustainable technologies. Catalyst Investments provides growth capital to technology and life sciences companies, and the Florida Opportunity Fund supports emerging businesses in Florida.
Alongside the funding announcement, Omeza strengthened its board leadership structure. Henry Gazay, co-founder and managing partner of BluKap Ventures, joined the company’s board as a non-executive director. Edouard Cukierman, founder and managing partner of Catalyst Investments, also joined as a non-executive director, while Eric Archambeau, founder and managing partner of Astanor, joined as a board observer.
Omeza’s technology platform reflects a broader shift within healthcare toward regenerative medicine approaches that aim to repair damaged tissue rather than simply manage symptoms. As medical innovation continues moving toward biologically inspired treatments, companies developing advanced wound care products are seeking to address unmet needs in areas where existing therapies may not provide sufficient healing outcomes.
The company’s Series A funding provides additional resources to scale its operations and advance its mission of improving wound care through regenerative solutions. With backing from Astanor, BluKap Ventures, Catalyst Investments, and the Florida Opportunity Fund, Omeza plans to continue expanding its clinical programs, strengthening commercialization efforts, and advancing its goal of delivering innovative wound care solutions to patients and healthcare providers.
