NurivaTech AI Raises $8M Seed Round Backed by MLB Stars and Sports Industry Investors to Scale AI Biomechanics Platform

NurivaTech AI, a sports-focused computer vision startup building smartphone-based biomechanics and performance analytics tools, has raised $8 million in seed funding as it looks to scale its AI-powered athletic training platform, SportFX, across amateur and professional sports markets.

The round includes participation from a mix of sports industry figures and investors. Backers include former MLB manager Joe Girardi, two-time MLB All-Star Jason Kipnis, former MLB players Kole Calhoun and Jesse Biddle, along with sports and finance figures such as Patrick Eilers of Transition Equity Partners, former NFL head coach Adam Gase, and Mark Kaufman of Athletico Physical Therapy.

Founded by Joseph Caruso, NurivaTech AI is developing a mobile-first motion capture system that uses smartphone video to generate real-time biomechanical insights. Its flagship product, SportFX, allows athletes and coaches to analyze movement patterns without requiring wearables or specialized lab equipment, positioning it as a lower-cost alternative to traditional motion capture systems.

The company’s AI system uses computer vision to convert video footage into performance metrics that can be used to improve mechanics, reduce injury risk, and optimize training outcomes. Initially focused on baseball and softball, the platform is designed to expand into additional sports and training environments over time.

SportFX also provides a feedback layer that translates biomechanical data into actionable coaching insights. This positions the product as both an analytics tool and a digital coaching assistant aimed at making elite-level performance science more widely accessible.

Investor participation reflects growing interest in sports technology and AI-driven athletic performance tools. The involvement of professional athletes and sports operators is intended to provide both capital and domain expertise to guide product development and validate real-world applications.

Key investors in the round include Joe Girardi, Jason Kipnis, Kole Calhoun, Jesse Biddle, Patrick Eilers (Transition Equity Partners), Adam Gase, and Mark Kaufman (Athletico Physical Therapy). Each brings experience from professional sports, athletic training, or sports business operations, contributing to NurivaTech’s product validation and early adoption strategy.

The company plans to use the funding to expand its engineering team, improve its computer vision models, and enhance the accuracy of its biomechanics analysis engine. A significant portion of the investment will also go toward scaling data collection efforts, which are essential for improving AI performance and training more robust models.

NurivaTech is also expanding partnerships with sports organizations, training academies, and coaching networks to accelerate adoption of SportFX. These collaborations are expected to help integrate the platform into everyday training workflows across youth, collegiate, and professional sports.

Early pilot programs with teams and athletes across baseball and other sports are being used to test SportFX’s ability to deliver actionable performance insights. These trials are also helping refine the platform’s AI models to ensure consistency and reliability in real-world environments.

With $8 million in seed funding and backing from both venture investors and high-profile sports professionals, NurivaTech AI is positioning itself within the rapidly growing sports technology market. The company aims to democratize access to biomechanics and performance analytics by making advanced motion analysis available through a smartphone-based AI platform.
