Nervonik Raises $52.5 Million Series B to Advance Next-Generation Peripheral Nerve Stimulation Technology

Nervonik, a Los Angeles-based clinical-stage medical device company developing advanced peripheral nerve stimulation (PNS) technology, has raised $52.5 million in Series B funding to accelerate the development and commercialization of its next-generation neuromodulation platform. The oversubscribed financing will support the company’s continued clinical programs, advancement of proprietary sensing capabilities, and preparation for broader commercialization efforts focused on improving treatment options for chronic pain.

The Series B round was led by Amzak Health, with participation from Elevage Medical Technologies, U.S. Venture Partners, Lumira Ventures, Foothill Ventures, and ShangBay Capital. The new financing builds on Nervonik’s earlier capital raises, including a $13 million Series A round announced in 2025.

Founded by Aydin Babakhani, PhD, Nervonik is developing a peripheral nerve stimulation system designed to provide non-drug treatment options for chronic neuropathic pain. The company’s platform combines stimulation technology with advanced sensing capabilities intended to deliver more personalized and precise therapy. Nervonik’s goal is to address limitations in existing PNS systems by introducing improved connectivity, sensing, and feedback mechanisms.

Peripheral nerve stimulation is a neuromodulation approach that uses electrical stimulation to influence nerve activity and help manage pain. Traditional systems often rely on programmed stimulation settings without direct biological feedback. Nervonik is developing technology that incorporates sensing capabilities to provide additional information about nerve responses, potentially enabling more informed treatment adjustments and improved therapy personalization.

The company’s proprietary platform is designed around wireless power and neural sensing technologies. Nervonik states that its approach aims to overcome technical challenges associated with biosensing in peripheral nerve stimulation, including the ability to capture physiological signals from stimulated nerves. The company believes these capabilities could help physicians optimize therapy delivery and improve long-term treatment outcomes.

The newly raised capital will be used to advance Nervonik’s clinical development programs and support the continued development of its PNS system. The company also plans to use the funding to prepare for commercialization activities as it works toward bringing its technology to patients suffering from chronic pain. Nervonik’s technology remains under development and has not been cleared or approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.

Nervonik previously raised $13 million in Series A financing led by U.S. Venture Partners, with participation from Foothill Ventures, Correlation Ventures, and other investors. The company also received earlier support through SAFE and convertible note financings from investors including ShangBay Capital, Camford Capital, Joyance Partners, Life Science Angels, and Seraph Group.

The latest investment reflects increasing interest in medical technologies that aim to provide alternatives to traditional pain management approaches. Chronic pain affects millions of people worldwide, and healthcare companies have continued to explore new methods that can reduce reliance on medication while improving patient outcomes. Nervonik’s platform is focused on advancing neuromodulation technology through a combination of stimulation, sensing, and personalized therapy approaches.

Investor participation from Amzak Health, Elevage Medical Technologies, U.S. Venture Partners, Lumira Ventures, Foothill Ventures, and ShangBay Capital highlights continued venture and strategic interest in advanced medical devices and healthcare innovation. The funding syndicate brings together investors with experience across healthcare, technology, and life sciences.

Nervonik has also made progress in its clinical development efforts. The company has announced completion of first-in-human feasibility work involving its nerve stimulation technology, including efforts to demonstrate nerve sensing during peripheral nerve stimulation across multiple anatomical targets. These milestones are part of Nervonik’s broader effort to validate its technology and advance toward future commercialization.

The company’s platform is positioned within the broader field of neuromodulation, an area that has expanded as researchers and medical device companies seek more precise ways to treat neurological conditions and chronic pain. By integrating sensing capabilities into peripheral nerve stimulation, Nervonik aims to create a more intelligent system capable of adapting therapy based on patient-specific responses.

With its $52.5 million Series B financing, Nervonik plans to continue advancing its next-generation PNS platform and expanding its clinical and commercial capabilities. Backed by Amzak Health, Elevage Medical Technologies, U.S. Venture Partners, Lumira Ventures, Foothill Ventures, and ShangBay Capital, the company is working toward developing more personalized and data-driven solutions for chronic pain management.
