NanoTech Materials Raises $29.4 Million Series A to Scale Advanced Infrastructure Protection Technologies

NanoTech Materials, an advanced materials science company developing protective coatings designed to improve energy efficiency and fire resilience across critical infrastructure, has raised $29.4 million in Series A funding to expand manufacturing capacity, accelerate commercialization, and grow adoption of its technology products. The Houston-area company plans to use the investment to scale operations and increase market reach for its portfolio of high-performance materials.

The Series A financing was led by HPI Real Estate & Investments, with participation from strategic investors Goose Capital and Milliken & Company. The latest investment brings NanoTech Materials’ total funding raised to approximately $34.4 million, following earlier financing that supported the company’s initial development and commercialization efforts.

Founded in 2019 and headquartered in Katy, Texas, NanoTech Materials develops advanced coating solutions based on its proprietary Insulative Ceramic Particle (ICP) technology. The company’s materials are designed to help reduce heat transfer, improve energy efficiency, and protect structures from extreme temperatures and wildfire risks.

NanoTech Materials’ product portfolio includes Cool Roof Coat, Wildfire Shield, and Insulative Coat: Cool Touch. These solutions are designed for applications ranging from commercial buildings and industrial facilities to infrastructure projects requiring enhanced thermal management and fire protection. The company says its technology is aimed at addressing growing challenges related to rising temperatures, energy consumption, and climate-related risks.

The newly raised capital will allow NanoTech Materials to expand domestic manufacturing capabilities and accelerate commercialization of its products. The company currently operates a 43,000-square-foot manufacturing facility in Katy, Texas, where it produces its advanced materials for customers across multiple sectors.

NanoTech Materials’ flagship technologies are built around ceramic-based materials engineered to provide thermal protection while maintaining durability. The company’s Wildfire Shield product is designed to help protect structures from extreme heat and fire exposure, while its Cool Roof Coat technology focuses on reducing heat absorption and improving building energy performance.

The investment from HPI Real Estate & Investments reflects growing interest in technologies that can improve the resilience and efficiency of the built environment. Real estate operators and infrastructure owners are increasingly looking for solutions that can reduce operating costs, improve building performance, and address climate-related challenges.

Strategic investor Milliken & Company brings expertise in advanced materials, manufacturing, and industrial innovation. The company has a long history of developing specialty materials and technologies across industries, making its participation relevant to NanoTech Materials’ efforts to scale production and expand market adoption.

Goose Capital also participated in the Series A round, supporting NanoTech Materials as it advances its mission of developing materials designed to solve energy efficiency and fire protection challenges. The investor group’s participation highlights increasing demand for climate-focused technologies that can deliver practical improvements to existing infrastructure.

Before the Series A financing, NanoTech Materials completed a $5 million seed round led by Ecliptic Capital, with support from Halliburton Labs. That earlier funding helped the company scale research, manufacturing capabilities, and commercialization activities.

NanoTech Materials has gained attention for its work in addressing energy consumption and wildfire mitigation challenges. The company’s technologies have been recognized for their potential applications in buildings, industrial facilities, and infrastructure where improved heat management and fire resistance are increasingly important considerations.

The company’s growth comes as demand increases for materials that can help improve building efficiency and resilience. Extreme weather events, higher energy costs, and stricter performance requirements are encouraging property owners and infrastructure operators to explore advanced materials that can extend asset life and reduce operational demands.

NanoTech Materials aims to continue expanding the availability of its coating technologies as it moves from product development toward broader commercial deployment. The company’s approach combines materials science innovation with practical infrastructure applications, targeting markets where improved thermal performance and fire protection can deliver measurable benefits.

With backing from HPI Real Estate & Investments, Goose Capital, and Milliken & Company, NanoTech Materials is positioned to accelerate its manufacturing expansion and bring its advanced coating solutions to more customers. The company plans to continue developing materials designed to improve infrastructure performance while addressing major challenges in energy efficiency and fire resilience.
