Moda Raises $7.5M Seed Round to Build AI “Design Agent” for Brand-Consistent Creative Workflows
Moda, an AI-native design platform that enables professionals and teams to create fully editable, brand-aligned visual assets using an AI “design agent,” has raised $7.5 million in a seed funding round as it looks to expand its product and scale adoption across marketing, sales, and creative workflows.
The company is building an AI design system that generates and edits presentations, documents, social content, and marketing materials on a collaborative canvas. Unlike traditional generative AI tools that produce static outputs, Moda focuses on editable, structured design components that preserve brand consistency and allow users to refine outputs in real time. Its platform is aimed at teams that need high-volume, on-brand creative production without relying heavily on design specialists.
The seed round was led by General Catalyst, a global venture capital firm known for backing early- and growth-stage technology companies across AI, fintech, and enterprise software. The firm has been increasingly active in applied AI infrastructure investments, and its participation signals continued investor interest in tools that embed generative AI directly into business workflows. Additional participation in the round came from Pear VC and WndrCo, along with a group of founders and executives from major technology companies.
Moda was founded by Anvisha Pai, Ravi Parikh, and John Holliman, and is headquartered in New York. The founders describe the platform as a “design agent” that learns a company’s visual identity and applies it consistently across all generated content. The system integrates with widely used productivity and design tools, enabling teams to export assets into formats like slides and documents while maintaining editability.
According to reporting on the round, Moda has already attracted early users across startups and growth-stage companies, with teams using the platform to generate investor decks, marketing materials, and internal communications. Companies such as Fermat, Speak, and Mintlify have been cited among early adopters, reflecting early traction in startup and developer-focused ecosystems.
The company plans to use the new funding to expand its engineering and AI research teams, enhance its brand-learning capabilities, and improve integration with enterprise tools such as presentation and productivity software. A key focus is building out the underlying “design intelligence” layer, which allows the system to better understand and replicate a company’s tone, layout standards, and visual language over time.
Moda’s leadership believes that the next wave of AI productivity tools will move beyond content generation toward structured, editable, and brand-aware systems that can operate inside enterprise workflows. This approach positions the company within a growing category of AI-native creative infrastructure, competing with both traditional design software and emerging generative AI platforms.
Investors backing the company are betting on continued demand for scalable content creation tools as businesses face increasing pressure to produce more marketing and sales assets across multiple channels. The ability to maintain brand consistency while automating production is seen as a key differentiator in a crowded AI tools market.
With its new capital, Moda is expected to accelerate product development and expand its user base globally, aiming to become a core layer in how organizations create and manage visual communication in the AI era.
