Moda Raises $7.5M Seed Round Led by General Catalyst to Build AI Design Agent for Enterprise Brand Content

Moda, an AI-powered design agent startup building brand-aware visual generation tools for enterprises, has raised $7.5 million in seed funding as it expands its platform for creating editable, on-brand marketing and design assets at scale.

The round was led by General Catalyst, a global venture capital firm known for backing early- and growth-stage technology companies across artificial intelligence, enterprise software, and consumer internet. General Catalyst’s participation reflects continued investor interest in generative AI tools that move beyond image generation toward structured, workflow-integrated design systems for businesses.

Additional participation in the round came from Pear VC, an early-stage venture capital firm that invests in seed-stage startups across AI, SaaS, and consumer technology, and WndrCo, the venture firm founded by Jeffrey Katzenberg that focuses on technology-enabled media and platform companies. The seed round also included participation from several founders and executives from major technology companies, including Dropbox, Stripe, Google, and Scale AI, according to publicly available disclosures.

The financing brings Moda’s total funding to approximately $7.5 million in a single seed round, positioning the company early in its lifecycle as it develops its AI-native design infrastructure. The company is based in San Francisco and was founded in 2025 by Anvisha Pai, Ravi Parikh, and John Holliman.

Moda’s platform is designed to act as a “design agent” that understands a company’s brand guidelines and automatically generates fully editable assets such as presentations, marketing creatives, social media content, and business documents. Unlike traditional generative AI tools that produce static images, Moda’s system focuses on layered, editable outputs that integrate into collaborative workflows, allowing teams to refine and reuse generated content.

The company’s core value proposition centers on reducing the friction between ideation and production for business teams that require consistent brand output across multiple channels. By embedding brand intelligence into its model, Moda aims to ensure visual consistency while still enabling rapid content creation at scale. Early users of the platform reportedly include startups and growth-stage companies using the tool for investor decks, marketing campaigns, and internal communications.

Investors have increasingly shown interest in this category of AI tools as enterprises look to standardize brand output across distributed teams. The funding environment for AI design platforms has become more competitive as venture firms seek startups that combine generative AI capabilities with workflow integration and enterprise adoption potential.

Moda’s seed round also reflects a broader shift in venture capital toward “agentic AI” systems—tools that do not simply generate outputs but perform structured tasks within business environments. In this context, Moda positions itself not as a design tool replacement but as an autonomous design layer that operates across existing productivity software.

With the new capital, Moda is expected to expand its engineering and product teams, enhance its AI model’s understanding of brand systems, and scale integrations with enterprise tools such as presentation and design software platforms. The company is also working on expanding access to its beta user base, which already includes several early adopters across marketing and operations teams.

As competition intensifies in the AI design space, Moda’s early backing from leading venture firms and strategic operators places it among a growing cohort of startups attempting to redefine how organizations produce visual content in the AI era.
