Mintlify, a modern content platform for developers, has successfully secured $18 million in Series A funding, led by Andreessen Horowitz, with participation from existing investors Bain Capital Ventures and Y Combinator. This funding round brings Mintlify’s total capital raised to $21 million and will be used to accelerate its mission of empowering developers worldwide through innovative and interactive content solutions.

Founded by Han Wang and Hahnbee Lee, Mintlify’s journey began well before the company’s inception. Wang, a self-taught developer who started coding at age 11, created a mobile app for his school. Together with Lee, they developed various products during their university years, including a graduation planning tool and a friendship app to help students connect during the pandemic. Their guiding principle has always been to create impactful solutions for their community, which became the foundation of Mintlify, targeting developers as their primary audience.

Since launching less than two years ago, Mintlify has seen remarkable growth. The platform now supports documentation for thousands of leading startups and major firms, including Anthropic, Perplexity, Cursor, Pinecone, and Zapier. Notably, over 20% of the latest Y Combinator cohort utilizes Mintlify for their developer content strategy. Content generated through Mintlify reaches more than 20 million developers annually, highlighting its significant role in the developer ecosystem.

Mintlify offers tools that not only facilitate the creation of documentation but also simplify content management and maintenance. Features include guides, API references, SDK libraries, knowledge bases, and user analytics. These components are designed to ensure a smooth user experience for both developers and non-developers, promoting effective collaboration in building and managing documentation.

As artificial intelligence continues to advance, Mintlify is leading the way in transforming developer interactions with documentation. A standout innovation is AI Chat, which allows developers to retrieve answers directly from documentation through an integrated chatbot on product screens, websites, or within their Integrated Development Environment (IDE). Since its launch, AI Chat has processed over 2 million queries, illustrating how AI is reshaping the consumption and utility of technical content.

Looking ahead, Mintlify plans to roll out additional AI-driven features to further enhance developer productivity with minimal effort. With the backing of this new funding, the company aims to expand its platform and solidify its position as a leading infrastructure solution for developer content globally. These innovations are set to bridge human knowledge and AI, enabling developers to work smarter and more efficiently.
