Maxed Raises $850,000 Pre-Seed Funding to Build AI Operating System for CPA Firms

Maxed, an artificial intelligence startup developing an AI-native operating system for accounting firms, has raised $850,000 in pre-seed funding to accelerate the development of its platform designed to help CPA firms automate manual workflows and replace fragmented software systems with a unified AI-powered solution. The round was led by Focal, with participation from Akshay Kothari.

Founded by Fifi Siddiqui, Maxed is building technology aimed at modernizing the way accounting firms operate by using AI agents to automate repetitive administrative work. The company’s platform is designed to help CPA firms manage more clients with existing teams by reducing the operational burden created by disconnected software tools and manual processes.

The newly raised capital will support Maxed’s product development and expansion as the company continues building its AI-powered infrastructure for accounting professionals. The startup is currently focused on developing a platform that consolidates the various systems used by CPA firms into a single operating environment powered by artificial intelligence.

Maxed was created to address challenges faced by accounting firms that rely on multiple software products to manage different parts of their operations. These fragmented systems can create inefficiencies, require significant manual input, and make it difficult for firms to scale their services. Maxed aims to solve these issues by providing an AI-native platform that brings together workflows and automates time-consuming tasks.

The company describes its product as an AI operating system for CPA firms, designed to replace expensive and disconnected software stacks with a flexible platform powered by AI agents. The technology is intended to automate the manual work that limits accounting firms’ ability to serve more customers while helping teams focus on higher-value activities.

Investor backing from Focal represents early support for Maxed’s approach to applying artificial intelligence to professional services. The venture firm led the company’s pre-seed round as Maxed works to develop tools for one of the world’s largest professional services industries.

Akshay Kothari also participated in the financing. Kothari is known for his role as co-founder of Pulse, which was acquired by LinkedIn, and later as Chief Operating Officer of Notion. His participation provides Maxed with support from an experienced technology entrepreneur and operator.

The funding comes as artificial intelligence adoption expands across professional services industries. Accounting firms are increasingly exploring AI tools to improve efficiency, automate repetitive processes, and provide more scalable services to clients. Maxed is targeting this shift by developing AI agents specifically for accounting workflows rather than offering general-purpose productivity tools.

Maxed is currently headquartered in Miami and was founded in 2025. The company is working with early design partners as it continues refining its platform and preparing for broader adoption among CPA firms.

The startup’s founder, Fifi Siddiqui, has said that Maxed was built after conversations with accounting firms revealed common challenges around expensive software systems and teams overwhelmed by manual processes. The company’s goal is to create infrastructure that allows accounting professionals to operate more efficiently through AI-driven automation.

The rise of AI agents has created opportunities for startups developing specialized solutions for specific industries. Rather than focusing only on general AI assistants, companies like Maxed are building domain-specific platforms designed to understand the unique workflows and requirements of professional sectors.

With its $850,000 pre-seed investment from Focal and Akshay Kothari, Maxed plans to continue expanding its AI-native operating system for CPA firms. The company aims to help accounting firms reduce operational complexity, automate routine work, and build more efficient businesses through artificial intelligence.
