MangoBoost Raises $55 Million Series A to Expand AI Data Center Optimization Technology

MangoBoost, an artificial intelligence infrastructure company developing data processing unit (DPU) solutions for cloud computing and data centers, has raised $55 million in Series A funding to accelerate product development and expand commercialization of its hardware and software platform. The financing brought MangoBoost’s total funding raised to approximately $65 million and valued the company at around $300 million, according to reports at the time of the Series A announcement.

The Series A round was backed by a group of investors including IMM Investment, Shinhan Venture Investment, Insure & Match Capital, KB Investment, Korea Development Bank, and Premier Partners. The funding supported MangoBoost’s efforts to develop and commercialize its DPU technology, which is designed to improve data center efficiency by reducing workloads handled by traditional CPUs and GPUs.

Founded in 2022, MangoBoost is a Seattle- and Seoul-based startup focused on building advanced data processing solutions for artificial intelligence workloads and modern cloud infrastructure. The company develops DPUs, specialized processors designed to handle networking, storage, and data management tasks in data centers. By shifting certain workloads away from CPUs and GPUs, DPUs can help improve performance, reduce costs, and increase efficiency in large-scale computing environments.

MangoBoost was founded by Jangwoo Kim, a computer architecture researcher who established the company with students and colleagues to commercialize research into data processing technologies. The startup’s technology is based on years of academic research in computer systems and aims to provide a practical alternative for organizations managing increasingly complex computing workloads.

The company’s DPU solutions are designed for enterprise customers and data center operators facing growing demands from artificial intelligence, machine learning, cloud computing, and large-scale data processing. As AI applications require greater computing power, companies are looking for ways to improve infrastructure efficiency without relying only on additional CPU and GPU capacity. MangoBoost aims to address this challenge by providing dedicated processing technology that optimizes how data moves through computing systems.

MangoBoost has said its DPU technology can help reduce CPU utilization and improve data center performance. The company’s solutions combine specialized hardware with software support, allowing organizations to integrate the technology into existing server environments rather than replacing their entire infrastructure.

The participation of IMM Investment and Shinhan Venture Investment highlights investor interest in semiconductor and AI infrastructure companies. Both firms have invested in technology businesses and supported companies developing solutions for emerging markets. Their participation helped MangoBoost secure additional resources to expand its technology and market reach.

KB Investment, Korea Development Bank, Insure & Match Capital, and Premier Partners also participated in the Series A financing. Their involvement provided further backing from Korean investment organizations as MangoBoost worked to scale its DPU platform and strengthen its position in the AI infrastructure market.

The investment comes amid increasing demand for technologies that improve the efficiency of AI data centers. The rapid expansion of generative AI applications has increased pressure on computing infrastructure, creating demand for specialized chips and systems that can process data more efficiently. DPUs have emerged as an important component of next-generation data centers by helping manage networking, storage, and communication tasks more effectively.

MangoBoost’s technology competes in a growing market that includes companies developing specialized infrastructure for AI workloads. As businesses continue investing in artificial intelligence, data center operators are seeking solutions that can reduce energy consumption, improve performance, and lower operational costs. MangoBoost aims to become a key provider of infrastructure technology supporting this shift.

The company has continued expanding its global presence following its funding round, operating across the United States and South Korea. MangoBoost’s international footprint reflects its goal of serving customers in major technology markets where demand for AI computing infrastructure is increasing.

With its $55 million Series A investment from IMM Investment, Shinhan Venture Investment, Insure & Match Capital, KB Investment, Korea Development Bank, and Premier Partners, MangoBoost plans to continue advancing its DPU technology and expanding adoption among enterprises and data center operators. The company is positioning itself as a key player in the development of more efficient AI computing infrastructure as demand for advanced data processing continues to grow.
