JuliaHub Raises $65 Million Series B to Accelerate AI-Powered Engineering and Industrial Simulation Platform

JuliaHub, a Cambridge, Massachusetts-based technology company developing high-performance computing and artificial intelligence solutions for engineering and scientific applications, has raised $65 million in Series B funding to expand its AI-powered platform for industrial design, simulation, and digital twin development. The round was led by Dorilton Ventures, with participation from General Catalyst, AE Ventures, and technology investor Bob Muglia. The financing will support JuliaHub’s continued development of its Dyad platform, which is designed to bring agentic artificial intelligence capabilities to complex engineering workflows.

JuliaHub, formerly known as Julia Computing, was founded by the creators of the Julia programming language, an open-source language designed for high-performance technical computing. The company provides cloud-based tools that allow engineers, scientists, and researchers to develop, deploy, and scale advanced computational models. JuliaHub’s technology is used in areas including aerospace, automotive, energy, pharmaceuticals, finance, and industrial systems development.

Dorilton Ventures led JuliaHub’s Series B financing. The investment firm has previously backed JuliaHub, including leading the company’s $24 million Series A round in 2021. Dorilton Ventures’ continued support reflects its interest in JuliaHub’s mission to provide next-generation computing and simulation tools for organizations building complex physical systems.

General Catalyst participated in the Series B round. The global investment firm has backed technology companies across software, healthcare, artificial intelligence, and enterprise markets. Its investment in JuliaHub supports the company’s efforts to expand AI-powered engineering solutions for businesses developing sophisticated products and infrastructure.

AE Ventures also joined the financing round. The investment firm focuses on technology companies and participated in JuliaHub’s latest funding as the company expands its platform for industrial applications. JuliaHub previously received a $13 million strategic investment from AE Industrial Partners HorizonX, the venture investment platform formed by AE Industrial Partners in partnership with The Boeing Company.

Bob Muglia, former CEO of Snowflake and former Microsoft executive, participated as an individual technology investor. Muglia previously joined Julia Computing’s board following the company’s 2021 Series A financing. His continued involvement reflects his interest in enterprise technology and platforms focused on large-scale data, computing, and artificial intelligence applications.

JuliaHub’s latest financing coincided with the launch of Dyad 3.0, the company’s agentic AI platform for hardware engineering. Dyad is designed to help engineers create and test complex physical systems, including industrial machines, satellites, semiconductors, and other advanced technologies. The company says the platform uses AI agents to reduce the time required for design and testing processes that traditionally take months.

The company’s technology combines artificial intelligence with Julia’s high-performance computing capabilities. Julia was created to address challenges faced by scientists and engineers who often need both the flexibility of high-level programming languages and the performance of lower-level computing environments. JuliaHub builds commercial tools around this ecosystem, helping organizations apply advanced computational methods to real-world engineering problems.

JuliaHub’s platform is focused on enabling digital twins, which are virtual models of physical systems used for simulation, testing, and optimization. Digital twins are increasingly used across industries to improve product development, reduce costs, and evaluate complex systems before physical production. The company is positioning its AI technology as a way to make these processes faster and more accessible.

The Series B funding follows several previous investments in JuliaHub. In addition to the $24 million Series A round in 2021 and the $13 million strategic investment from AE Industrial Partners HorizonX in 2023, the company has raised additional capital to support development of its technical computing platform.

The investment comes as artificial intelligence adoption expands beyond traditional software applications into engineering and industrial design. Companies are increasingly exploring AI systems that can assist with modeling, simulation, and product development, particularly in industries where complex physical systems require extensive testing and analysis.

JuliaHub plans to use the new funding to continue advancing its AI engineering platform, expand its customer base, and support the development of tools that allow engineers to design and test products more efficiently. The company is targeting industries where computational modeling and simulation play a critical role, including aerospace, automotive, energy, and manufacturing.

With backing from Dorilton Ventures, General Catalyst, AE Ventures, and Bob Muglia, JuliaHub is continuing its effort to transform technical computing through artificial intelligence. The company aims to provide engineers with AI-powered tools that accelerate innovation and improve the way complex physical systems are designed, simulated, and built.
