TWiST Business Researcher/Junior Producer

Our team produces the podcasts “This Week in Startups” (TWiST), “All-In”, and the TWiST Ticker, a newsletter focused on startups and tech. We are a part of LAUNCH, an early-stage firm which invests millions of dollars into dozens of startups every year.

This is a position where you will learn a lot very quickly and have ample opportunity to grow and try new things.

80% of your time will be spent researching news stories covering startups, tech, and public/private markets, and breaking them down for TWiST news segments and the Ticker newsletter, both of which are daily.

The rest of your time will be spent archiving the 1400+ episodes of This Week in Startups, researching and suggesting guests, and learning what it takes to produce a daily podcast and newsletter about startups. The general hours for this role are 12pm-9p ET.

Skills Required

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• An eye for story curation
• Excellent time management and the ability to self-manage
• Quick learner and willingness to learn on your own
• Desire to work in a team-based, entrepreneurial company
• Ability to maintain composure in high-pressure situations
• Ability to excel in a rapidly evolving environment
• Be exceptional at productivity and communications software (i.e., Google Docs, Notion, Canva, Keynote, whatever the next interesting tool is)
