Associate General Counsel

Overview

We’re looking for an Associate General Counsel to put our portfolio entrepreneurs in the best possible position to grow world changing companies, while building a strong legal and regulatory foundation for our growing future.

You’ll join our team of authentic, ambitious, smart, nice people and walk into a world-class Venture Firm with the infrastructure and resources to set you up for success. You’ll provide the infrastructure for startups to prosper, assisting with their incorporation and formation, fundraising, IP issues, and anything else that is needed to grow and scale. You will also help with our investor-side products, including access to a variety of funds and deal-by-deal basis investments done through Special Purpose Vehicles (SPV’s), all in support of our growing funds and team.

Most importantly, you’ll help build a B2B SaaS community and ecosystem that is truly inclusive, diverse, and supportive of founders.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Advise on Issues: Counsel the Founders and the Venture team on issues affecting the companies, funds, and products, including IP, regulatory compliance, product structuring, and marketing.
• Build the Infrastructure: Draft and review product and service offering documents and act as the main point of contact for work with all external attorneys to manage copyrights and trademarks, and any finance related matters as necessary.
• Help Support Founders: Collaborate with other business functions, including the business development, compliance, product and engineering teams.
• Make it Equitable: Ensure that diversity, equity and inclusion are at the center of all recruiting related programs and workflows.

What You’ll Need

• 5+ years of legal experience, preferably in VC, an early-stage startup, or a growing technology company
• Proven ability to work with and advise executive teams on the best course of legal action as situations arise or reach the potential to occur
• Strong experience in working with and managing outside counsel as required
  An entrepreneurial mindset.
• High integrity, a strong work ethic and takes a lot of pride in their work.
