The Partner Services (ACPS) business line provides advisory services for participants in economic development programs familiar to Advantage, particularly the New Markets Tax Credit program, helping those businesses and investors accomplish their programmatic goals around permanent job growth through small business finance. To date ACPS has helped our partners invest over $550 million in capital in operating businesses, creating nearly 6,000 permanent, quality jobs through those investments to date.

Job Purpose:
ACPS is seeking a highly motivated individual to join our team in one of the locations below. The Impact Investment Analyst will work across our entire range of advisory services, performing community and financial data analytics, research projects, conducting client interviews and outreach and organizing submissions and financial closings. This work will support, among other things, submission of federal applications in the highly competitive New Markets Tax Credit program, and sourcing, underwriting and closing financings into high impact community businesses and organizations.
The Analyst will develop extensive knowledge of a variety of businesses and business models, as well as a comprehensive understanding of the New Markets Tax Credit program. This role will involve interaction with all parts of Advantage Capital, including ACPS and the Impact Analytics and Research arm of the organization. Candidates are expected to have strong written and verbal communication skills, comfort with quant-based analytics, and a strong record of leadership accomplishments.
Responsibilities:
- Quantitative analysis of data sets, including past and prospective investment related data
- Researching and compiling insightful company, industry and impact data
- Acquiring knowledge and expertise around both traditional investment parameters and Advantage-specific impact metrics
- Helping to underwrite investment opportunities, including financial and impact underwriting
Skills/Qualifications:
- 1-3 years experience in financial and data analysis
- Proactive in identifying next steps, intellectually curious, ability to focus on both details and the big picture
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Bachelor’s degree preferred (significant coursework in science, math, statistics, or finance)
- Strong mathematics and analytical skills, attention to detail and accuracy in work product is critical
- Interest in public support
- Self-starter with ability to problem solve
- Strong computer skills, including formula proficiency in Excel, internet research, task organization management
- This position requires strong time management skills and ability to multi-task, and flexibility to prioritize new opportunities as they arise
