Humble Robotics Emerges From Stealth With $24 Million Seed Round to Reinvent Autonomous Freight

Humble Robotics has emerged from stealth with $24 million in seed funding to accelerate the development of a new generation of fully autonomous, cabless electric freight vehicles designed to transform commercial logistics. The San Francisco-based startup is developing purpose-built autonomous haulers that eliminate the traditional truck cab entirely, creating lighter, more efficient vehicles optimized for freight transportation rather than human drivers. The financing will support vehicle development, expansion of the company’s autonomous driving platform, initial pilot deployments, and early-stage production as Humble prepares to bring its technology into real-world logistics operations.

The seed round was led by Eclipse, with participation from Energy Impact Partners and additional private investors. The investment reflects growing confidence in next-generation autonomous freight technologies as logistics companies seek solutions that reduce operating costs, improve efficiency, and support the transition toward zero-emission transportation.

Founded by Chief Executive Officer Eyal Cohen, Humble Robotics is building what it describes as an entirely new approach to heavy-duty freight transportation. Rather than adapting conventional Class 8 trucks for autonomous operation, the company has designed its platform from the ground up without a driver cab. Eliminating the cab reduces overall vehicle weight, increases payload efficiency, and allows engineers greater flexibility in optimizing the vehicle specifically for autonomous freight movement.

The company’s first vehicle, known as the Humble Hauler, is an all-electric autonomous platform initially designed to transport shipping containers between logistics hubs. Instead of focusing on long-haul highway operations, the vehicle is intended for dock-to-dock freight movement across environments such as warehouses, distribution centers, rail terminals, and seaports. The platform is also designed to adapt to multiple cargo types and logistics environments, enabling broader commercial applications as the technology matures.

Humble’s autonomous system relies primarily on a vision-based perception architecture supported by advanced artificial intelligence. The platform combines cameras with sophisticated machine learning models to interpret surrounding environments, navigate complex logistics facilities, and operate safely without human intervention. By integrating autonomy directly into a purpose-built vehicle rather than retrofitting existing trucks, the company believes it can simplify operations while reducing both manufacturing complexity and operating costs.

The newly secured capital will enable Humble Robotics to continue refining both its vehicle platform and autonomous driving software. Funding will also support expansion of engineering teams, development of production-ready vehicles, construction of autonomous driving infrastructure, and the launch of initial commercial pilot programs with logistics partners. These milestones represent important steps toward validating the company’s technology in operational freight environments before larger-scale commercial deployment.

The logistics industry has increasingly embraced automation as companies respond to rising freight demand, labor shortages, and pressure to reduce emissions. Autonomous vehicles have attracted significant investment over the past decade, but many developers have focused on adapting conventional trucks originally designed for human drivers. Humble Robotics is taking a different approach by eliminating design elements that become unnecessary in fully autonomous vehicles, creating lighter platforms capable of carrying larger payloads while consuming less energy.

The company’s electric propulsion system also aligns with broader efforts across the transportation sector to reduce carbon emissions. Electric autonomous vehicles offer the potential to lower fuel costs, reduce maintenance requirements, and improve overall fleet efficiency while helping operators meet sustainability objectives. By combining electrification with autonomy, Humble aims to address both operational economics and environmental performance simultaneously.

The investor syndicate brings substantial experience in industrial technology, climate innovation, transportation, and enterprise software. Eclipse has built a portfolio focused on transforming physical industries through advanced technology, while Energy Impact Partners invests in technologies supporting the global transition toward more sustainable infrastructure. Their backing provides Humble Robotics with not only financial resources but also strategic expertise as the company scales engineering, manufacturing, and commercial partnerships.

As freight transportation continues to evolve through advances in artificial intelligence, robotics, and electrification, Humble Robotics is positioning itself to redefine how goods move through industrial supply chains. With fresh seed financing, a purpose-built autonomous vehicle platform, and plans to begin pilot deployments, the company intends to demonstrate that cabless autonomous freight vehicles can deliver meaningful improvements in efficiency, payload capacity, and operating costs. By reimagining heavy-duty transportation around autonomous operation from the outset, Humble Robotics aims to establish a new category of intelligent commercial vehicles designed specifically for the future of logistics.
