HEN Technologies Raises $22 Million in Equity and Debt Funding to Accelerate Intelligent Fire Suppression Innovation

HEN Technologies, a Hayward, California–based deep‑tech company developing an intelligent fire suppression ecosystem powered by AI, IoT and advanced fluid dynamics, has closed a $20 million Series A financing round alongside $2 million in venture debt, bringing its total capital raised to over $30 million to date. The funding will support the expansion and deployment of Fluid‑IQ™, the company’s predictive AI platform that transforms traditional fire response from reactive systems into predictive and adaptive networks.

The Series A round was led by O’Neil Strategic Capital, a private equity and venture capital firm focused on growth‑stage companies that require alternative financing solutions beyond traditional bank loans. Joining O’Neil Strategic Capital in backing HEN’s vision were a group of investors that bring a mix of strategic, growth, and deep‑tech capital to the opportunity.

Participants in the financing include NSFO, the Narotam Sekhsaria Family Office; Tanas Capital, a venture firm investing in deep‑technology and infrastructure innovation; and z21 Ventures, an early‑stage investor emphasizing AI and hardware‑centric startups. Venture debt was provided by Silicon Valley Bank, giving HEN additional runway to expand its technical and commercial operations.

Founded in 2020 by industry veteran Dr. Sunny Sethi, CEO, and Akshay Thakor, COO, HEN Technologies aims to modernize and revolutionize fire suppression systems that have remained largely unchanged for decades. The company’s patented Fluid‑IQ analytics combines physics‑informed neural networks (PINNs) with real‑time IoT data captured from smart nozzles, valves and pump controls to deliver insights that can anticipate fire behavior and optimize response strategies before they escalate. HEN’s hardware‑first strategy emphasizes capturing real operational data—flow, pressure, spray patterns and environmental conditions—from real‑world fire events, creating a rich data foundation for predictive modeling and AI‑driven decision support.

HEN’s technology has already been adopted by more than 1,000 organizations worldwide, including major public safety agencies such as CAL FIRE and branches of the U.S. military, with distribution networks spanning more than 100 partners in over 20 countries. The company’s systems have demonstrated notable performance improvements, including up to three‑times faster fire extinguishment and up to 67 percent water usage reduction compared with conventional firefighting equipment—performance gains that deliver both operational efficiency and environmental benefits.

With this new capital, HEN plans to scale its IoT‑enabled hardware infrastructure, enhance partner enablement and customer experience, and expand its field operations and technical teams to deliver seamless demonstrations of its systems worldwide. The company is also focused on building out its distributor platform to ensure more fire agencies, industrial facilities and international partners can experience its innovative products in action.

In public commentary about the funding, Alex Garden, Managing Partner at O’Neil Strategic Capital, emphasized the firm’s belief in HEN’s potential to create a category‑defining platform. Garden highlighted the hardware‑first approach and the company’s ability to build the foundational data infrastructure needed for truly predictive fire defense, describing HEN’s mission as critical at a time when fire threats—from wildfires to structural blazes—are intensifying globally.

Dr. Sunny Sethi, CEO of HEN Technologies, underscored the shift from optimizing individual tools to optimizing entire fire response strategies. According to Sethi, the combination of advanced hardware, real‑time data capture, and AI‑driven analytics positions HEN to deliver essential infrastructure for climate resilience and national security, particularly as wildfire severity and frequency increase due to climate change.

Akshay Thakor, COO, stressed that the company is capitalizing on its momentum in three critical areas: partner enablement, customer experience and technical operations. Thakor noted that HEN’s expanded workforce of product demonstration specialists is essential for providing hands‑on evaluations of its systems and reinforcing its global deployment strategy.

Raj Singh, Managing Partner at z21 Ventures, highlighted his firm’s strong conviction in HEN’s technology and team, noting the investment reflects confidence in the potential for the company’s proprietary fluid dynamics and AI platform to deliver a paradigm shift in firefighting capabilities and public safety.

As HEN Technologies advances its mission, the fresh funding positions the company to accelerate the rollout of its Fluid‑IQ platform, deepen its commercial footprint, and continue building a predictive ecosystem that could redefine how fire suppression and emergency response are executed worldwide.
