Harmonic Raises $100 Million to Advance Mathematical Superintelligence AI
Harmonic, the AI lab focused on developing “mathematical superintelligence” (MSI), has raised $100 million in a Series B funding round, bringing the company’s post-money valuation to nearly $900 million. The round was led by Kleiner Perkins, with participation from Paradigm, Ribbit Capital, Sequoia Capital, Index Ventures, and Charlie Cheever. The new capital will be used to speed up the development and commercialization of its MSI-powered model, Aristotle.
Unlike conventional AI systems that rely on probabilistic predictions, Aristotle uses a fundamentally different approach grounded in mathematics. It produces provable, logically coherent outputs, making it especially well-suited for high-stakes industries such as blockchain, aerospace, financial services, and software verification. Harmonic aims to create an AI system that can solve problems beyond human capabilities, enabling tasks like verified code generation and solving complex theoretical challenges.
CEO Tudor Achim described Aristotle as a model that redefines reasoning, while co-founder and Executive Chairman Vlad Tenev emphasized the company’s mission to transition MSI from theoretical research into real-world applications. As part of the latest financing, Kleiner Perkins partner Ilya Fushman will join Harmonic’s board as an observer, alongside existing members from previous investment rounds.
This new funding follows Harmonic’s $75 million Series A round in 2024 and positions the company to further accelerate its push into a new generation of AI focused on accuracy, transparency, and mathematical rigor.
