Gangkhar Raises $4.25M Seed Round to Scale AI-Powered Embedded Insurance Infrastructure
Gangkhar, an AI-native embedded insurance infrastructure startup, has raised $4.25 million in a seed funding round aimed at scaling its global platform for designing, deploying, and optimizing embedded protection products across digital ecosystems.
The company builds what it calls an AI-driven orchestration layer for insurance, enabling carriers, digital platforms, and financial service providers to integrate protection products directly into customer journeys through a single API. Its system supports key insurance workflows such as onboarding, pricing, underwriting, and claims, while using real-time data and machine learning to improve conversion, segmentation, and pricing accuracy across markets. The platform is designed to reduce integration complexity and accelerate time-to-market for embedded insurance programs across sectors including mobility, fintech, e-commerce, travel, and gig economy platforms.
The seed round was led by Anthemis, a global venture capital firm focused on financial services and fintech innovation. Additional participation came from Accion Ventures, Sancor Ventures, Seedstars, EWA Capital, and Simma Capital. Early-stage backing also included support from Rally Cap, which participated as a pre-seed investor.
Gangkhar said the funding will be used to accelerate product development, enhance its AI-powered optimization engine, and expand internationally as it deepens partnerships with insurers, reinsurers, and digital distribution platforms. The company is also focusing on improving its analytics capabilities, allowing partners to dynamically adjust insurance offerings based on real-time program performance data.
Founded in 2025 and headquartered in Dover, Delaware, Gangkhar is led by CEO Federico Spagnoli. Under his leadership, the company has positioned itself as a modular infrastructure provider for embedded protection, offering what it describes as Sherpa+Platform and related tools to help partners launch and scale insurance offerings across multiple jurisdictions. The company’s approach is built around reducing friction in insurance distribution while improving accessibility and customization through embedded experiences.
According to company disclosures and reporting on the round, Gangkhar’s platform is already being used to support multiple embedded insurance programs and connect with capacity providers across different regions. The company claims its infrastructure can significantly reduce time-to-market for insurance products, enabling faster experimentation and optimization of offerings in real time. Early deployments include use cases in logistics, delivery, and digital commerce platforms, where insurance is increasingly being integrated directly into transactional flows.
Investors backing the round highlighted the growing demand for embedded insurance solutions, particularly in emerging markets where traditional distribution channels are often inefficient or underdeveloped. They view Gangkhar’s infrastructure-led model as a way to expand insurance access while improving operational efficiency for carriers and digital platforms alike.
With the new capital, Gangkhar plans to scale its engineering team, deepen its AI capabilities, and expand its footprint across Latin America, MENA, and Asia-Pacific markets. The company’s long-term vision is to become a foundational layer for global embedded protection infrastructure, enabling insurance products to be seamlessly integrated into any digital transaction worldwide.
