Esperto Medical Completes Series A Financing to Advance Calibration-Free Blood Pressure Monitoring Technology
Esperto Medical, a health technology company developing noninvasive medical monitoring solutions, has completed an oversubscribed Series A financing round to accelerate the development and clinical testing of its Resonance Sonomanometry™ (RSM) technology. The round was co-led by Catalyst Health Ventures and Bold Capital Partners, with additional participation from Wavemaker Three-Sixty Health, Free Flow Ventures, Fund@Caltech, and Maverick Ventures. The company said the financing will support productization efforts and clinical testing of its technology, which is designed to enable continuous, noninvasive, calibration-free blood pressure monitoring.
Founded in 2018, Esperto Medical is focused on developing next-generation diagnostic technologies intended to improve how vital signs are measured and monitored. The company’s flagship technology, Resonance Sonomanometry™, uses sound waves across multiple frequency bands to measure arterial characteristics and determine blood pressure directly. Unlike traditional blood pressure monitoring approaches that rely on inflatable cuffs or require calibration against reference measurements, Esperto’s system is designed to provide continuous monitoring without those limitations.
The company was founded by a team with backgrounds in engineering, medicine, and biomedical innovation. Esperto Medical’s CEO and co-founder, Aditya Rajagopal, has experience in medical technology development and previously worked on advanced medical imaging methods at Google[x]. The company’s leadership team has focused on translating research into practical healthcare tools that can improve patient monitoring in hospitals, clinical environments, and remote care settings.
Esperto’s RSM technology is designed to address challenges associated with existing blood pressure monitoring methods. Conventional approaches often require intermittent measurements, uncomfortable cuffs, or invasive arterial lines in critical-care settings. The company aims to provide a more seamless alternative by creating a system capable of collecting continuous blood pressure data without requiring frequent manual intervention.
The Series A funding will allow Esperto to advance development of its medical device platform and conduct additional clinical testing. The company plans to use the capital to move its technology closer to commercialization by improving product design, validating performance, and preparing for future regulatory and market milestones.
Catalyst Health Ventures and Bold Capital Partners led the financing. Catalyst Health Ventures focuses on healthcare and medical technology investments, supporting companies developing solutions in areas such as medical devices, diagnostics, and digital health. Bold Capital Partners invests at the intersection of technology and life sciences, backing companies working on innovations intended to improve human health.
The financing also received support from Wavemaker Three-Sixty Health, Free Flow Ventures, Fund@Caltech, and Maverick Ventures. These investors bring experience supporting healthcare, technology, and research-driven startups. Fund@Caltech’s participation reflects the company’s connection to Caltech research, as Esperto’s technology originated from work associated with Caltech engineering research.
Esperto Medical has also received support from other innovation programs focused on advancing medical technology. The company previously secured funding from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation to support development of its continuous blood pressure measurement technology for use in improving monitoring access, including applications involving pregnant women in low- and middle-income countries.
The company’s technology has attracted attention because of the growing demand for better remote patient monitoring tools. Healthcare providers are increasingly seeking ways to collect more continuous health data outside traditional clinical settings, particularly as chronic conditions such as hypertension require ongoing monitoring and management.
Esperto has continued expanding its research and development activities through clinical studies and partnerships. The company has been evaluating its RSM technology in human studies and has highlighted potential applications across critical care, remote monitoring, and other healthcare settings where continuous vital sign information can improve decision-making.
In addition to its Series A financing, Esperto has received recognition for its technology development. The company was selected for programs supporting medical innovation, including the Space Health Accelerator and pediatric device initiatives focused on advancing new approaches to vital sign monitoring.
As healthcare systems continue moving toward more personalized and data-driven care, technologies that provide accurate and continuous monitoring are gaining increased attention. Esperto Medical is positioning its Resonance Sonomanometry platform as a potential alternative to traditional blood pressure measurement methods by combining acoustic sensing, medical device engineering, and advanced monitoring capabilities.
With the new Series A investment, Esperto Medical plans to continue advancing its technology toward clinical adoption and broader healthcare applications. The company’s goal is to make continuous blood pressure monitoring more accessible, comfortable, and practical for patients and healthcare providers while addressing longstanding limitations in existing measurement methods.
