EasyCep Raises $45M to Expand Refurbished Electronics Marketplace Across Turkey and Gulf
EasyCep, the Istanbul‑based refurbished electronics marketplace reshaping technology resale in Turkey and beyond, has announced a $45 million investment round to fuel its rapid growth and broaden its refurbishment ecosystem. The new funding will support expansion of EasyCep’s product range, strengthen its dealer network and accelerate operations in existing and new international markets as demand for certified refurbished devices continues to rise.
Founded in 2018, EasyCep has grown from a local secondhand electronics reseller into one of Turkey’s most prominent recommerce platforms, specializing in the purchase, technical renewal, warranty support and resale of mobile phones and other consumer electronics. The company’s unique model combines sustainable refurbishment, quality assurance and flexible payment options — including installment plans — to make technology more accessible and environmentally friendly while reducing electronic waste.
The latest financing was backed by a group of strategic investors that see value in EasyCep’s scaling operations and circular economy approach. Lead participants in the round include Oleka Capital, a venture firm focused on growth‑stage investments; RePie Portföy, a Turkish investment company active in technology and consumer markets; and Ziraat Portföy, the asset management arm of Türkiye’s largest state‑owned bank.
EasyCep Co‑Founder and CEO Mehmet Akif Özdemir said the company will use the capital to deepen the transformation it has initiated in the refurbished electronics sector. Under the new strategy, EasyCep aims to move beyond its core smartphone offerings and expand into refurbishing and selling a wider range of devices, including tablets, computers, gaming consoles and smart home electronics.
The startup currently operates more than 300 physical locations across Turkey, where customers can both sell used devices and purchase refurbished products with a 12‑month official warranty and after‑sales support. This blend of offline presence and digital marketplace capabilities has helped EasyCep grow its revenue fifteen‑fold between 2021 and 2024, reflecting strong consumer demand for reliable, certified secondhand technology.
In addition to its domestic footprint, EasyCep has expanded internationally with operations in Qatar, the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia, where it has developed strategic retail and distribution partnerships. Expansion into these regions aligns with the company’s goal of establishing a global presence while adapting its platform and services to different market needs.
A key part of EasyCep’s growth strategy is its EasyCep Express franchise network, which integrates independent secondhand dealers into a certified ecosystem that offers refurbished products with quality assurances. Through the network, partner dealers can leverage EasyCep’s certification processes, warranty support and sales infrastructure while contributing to a more formal refurbished market.
Investors have noted that the refurbished electronics segment is gaining traction around the world as consumers increasingly seek cost‑effective and sustainable alternatives to purchasing new devices. In mature markets, refurbished phones can account for up to one‑quarter of the total smartphone market, while in Turkey the share has risen rapidly in recent years amid expanding dealer networks and growing consumer trust in certified secondhand products.
Beyond expanding product categories, EasyCep’s plans include strengthening customer experience, improving logistics and scaling its refurbishment infrastructure to handle a broader range of devices. The company operates modern renewal centers capable of processing large volumes of products each month and has developed quality control systems designed to ensure consistency across device categories.
EasyCep’s leadership has emphasized sustainability as a core driver of its business model, pointing to environmental benefits associated with extending the lifespan of electronic products and reducing the need for new manufacturing. The company’s refurbishment processes and warranty offerings aim to build consumer confidence while contributing to circular economy goals.
The $45 million funding milestone follows earlier investment rounds, including an $11 million Series A financing that helped the company consolidate its market position and expand its dealer network and technical facilities. With this latest capital infusion, EasyCep is positioned to accelerate its evolution into a multi‑device refurbishment leader with a strong presence across Turkey and the Gulf region and a vision for broader global impact.
As the secondhand technology market continues to mature, EasyCep’s expanded investment and strategic direction reflect investor confidence in the company’s ability to scale its platform, enhance device lifecycle sustainability and create a formal ecosystem for affordable, reliable refurbished electronics.
