Croux Raises $3.6M to Scale AI-Powered Hospitality Staffing Marketplace for On-Demand Shift Work
Croux, an AI-native hospitality staffing marketplace connecting businesses with on-demand, pre-vetted workers, has raised approximately $3.6 million across multiple early-stage funding rounds as it expands its platform for flexible shift-based labor across hospitality, events, and related service industries.
The company’s most recent known financing includes a $2.5 million Seed VC II round completed in late 2025, with participation from investors including Halogen Ventures, alongside a mix of early-stage venture firms and impact-focused funds supporting workforce innovation in the service economy. The round builds on earlier financing that has supported Croux’s expansion across the southeastern United States and continued product development for its AI-powered staffing platform.
Croux operates as a two-sided labor marketplace that enables businesses such as restaurants, hotels, catering companies, event venues, and hospitality operators to quickly fill open shifts with qualified local workers. On the worker side, the platform allows individuals to access flexible job opportunities, choose shifts based on availability, and receive fast payouts after completing work.
The company was founded by a team with deep experience in hospitality operations and technology, including CEO Jennifer Ryan and CTO Kenny Kung, alongside co-founders Stewart Price and Brett Ables. Their combined background in restaurant operations and software engineering shaped Croux’s core focus: reducing inefficiencies in shift-based hiring while improving wage access and flexibility for workers in the hospitality sector.
A key component of Croux’s platform is its AI-driven matching system, which helps connect workers to shifts based on skill, availability, and historical performance. This automation is designed to reduce time-to-fill for employers while improving reliability and consistency in staffing, particularly for last-minute or high-volume labor needs.
Earlier funding rounds included a $1 million investment led by TitletownTech, a venture capital firm formed through a partnership between the Green Bay Packers and Microsoft. That investment helped the company expand beyond its initial launch market in Alabama and begin scaling across the broader Southeast region.
The company’s growth has been driven by increasing demand for flexible staffing solutions in industries facing chronic labor shortages and high turnover. By offering a gig-style labor model tailored specifically to hospitality and events, Croux positions itself between traditional staffing agencies and modern gig platforms, focusing on vetted, industry-specific talent.
Croux has also gained traction through partnerships and ecosystem support programs, including participation in regional innovation initiatives aimed at strengthening workforce infrastructure in emerging tech hubs. These relationships have helped the company refine its product and expand its user base among both employers and workers.
The latest funding is expected to be used to further develop Croux’s AI matching and workforce management capabilities, expand into additional U.S. markets, and enhance platform features such as scheduling automation, payroll processing, and worker trust scoring. The company is also focused on increasing fill rates for employers while improving earning stability for workers through more predictable shift availability.
As the demand for flexible labor continues to grow across service industries, Croux is positioning itself as a next-generation staffing infrastructure layer, using AI and marketplace dynamics to modernize how shift-based work is sourced, scheduled, and fulfilled.
