Cronvall Raises €3.9 Million Seed to Expand Digital Procurement Platform Across Europe
Helsinki‑based industrial procurement technology startup Cronvall has raised €3.9 million in a seed funding round to accelerate the expansion of its digital procurement platform across Europe and enhance transparency, efficiency and sustainability in industrial and construction purchasing processes. The funding, announced in November 2025, reflects growing investor confidence in technology solutions that digitally transform traditionally fragmented supply chains by centralising supplier networks and pricing data on a single platform.
Cronvall, founded in 2018 by CEO Walter Masalin, offers a digital marketplace and procurement platform that enables industrial and construction companies to manage critical purchases end‑to‑end. The platform connects buyers to a network of more than 150 vetted suppliers, allowing customers to compare prices and real‑time availability, place orders and track deliveries — all within one interface. By eliminating manual workflows and fragmented communication across multiple suppliers, Cronvall aims to reduce errors, streamline operations and cut unnecessary logistics costs for more than 8,000 clients including small‑to‑medium enterprises and publicly listed firms.
The €3.9 million seed round was led by Greencode Ventures, a Nordic venture capital firm that invests in deep‑tech and climate‑aligned companies, with participation from Stephen Industries, a Finnish family‑owned investment company with interests in Healthtech and Greentech, and Innovestor, a Helsinki‑based investment firm focused on venture capital and corporate venturing. In addition to these headline investors, several leading industrial family offices also participated in the round, bringing capital and strategic industry knowledge to support Cronvall’s growth ambitions.
The new funding will be directed toward scaling Cronvall’s platform technology, expanding its supplier network, and accelerating growth in key European markets — with Germany standing out as a priority target due to strong recent traction. The company has already seen its revenue in Germany increase more than five‑fold over the past year, contributing to its trajectory toward exceeding €6 million in annual turnover as demand for digital procurement solutions grows. Investors see substantial opportunity in helping industrial firms digitise procurement workflows and respond to emerging industry needs including data‑driven decision‑making and sustainability reporting.
Procurement in industrial and construction sectors has historically been characterised by fragmented processes, opaque pricing and outdated availability information, with buyers relying on email, phone calls and spreadsheets to manage orders from multiple suppliers. Cronvall’s co‑founder and CEO Walter Masalin has described procurement as a process fraught with friction, where access to up‑to‑date price and stock data is limited and placing a single order can require coordination across multiple supplier contacts. By offering a centralised platform with transparent pricing and seamless order management, Cronvall seeks to modernise procurement practices and reduce the administrative burden on purchasing teams.
Beyond operational efficiency, the platform’s digital supply‑chain capabilities support evolving sustainability and compliance pressures facing industrial buyers. As regulatory frameworks such as the EU’s Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) push companies to disclose environmental and social impacts across their operations, transparent procurement data becomes increasingly important. Cronvall’s technology provides visibility into supply‑chain decisions that can help reduce redundant shipments, cut CO₂ emissions from logistics and offer auditable procurement records that align with sustainability reporting requirements.
Investors backing Cronvall emphasise the strategic importance of modernising industrial purchasing processes and recognise the company’s potential to reshape how Europe’s construction and manufacturing sectors source and manage materials. Greencode Ventures noted that Cronvall’s combination of transparent marketplace, automation and data insights positions it to transform industrial sourcing across the continent. The participation of industrial family offices also highlights confidence from stakeholders directly immersed in sectors that stand to benefit from digital procurement innovations.
Cronvall’s digital strategy aims to build a data‑driven procurement network that connects thousands of buyers and suppliers, standardising how orders are placed and fulfilled, and ultimately reducing costs, improving reliability and increasing supply‑chain transparency. The fresh capital is expected to support product enhancements, broader supplier onboarding and further geographic expansion into key industrial hubs beyond Northern Europe.
As the company enters its next growth phase, Cronvall is poised to play a central role in the digital transformation of procurement across Europe’s industrial landscape. By combining marketplace technology with scalable operations and sustainability insights, the platform exemplifies how traditional B2B workflows can be reimagined through digital innovation — driving efficiency gains and lowering environmental impact for industrial buyers and suppliers alike.
