Cerrion Raises $18M Series A to Expand AI-Powered Industrial Video Agent Platform
Cerrion, a Zurich-based industrial AI technology company, has raised $18 million in a Series A funding round to accelerate the expansion of its AI-enabled video agent platform, which helps manufacturers detect and resolve production issues in real time. The funding strengthens Cerrion’s position as it scales its automation technology across global manufacturing operations.
The Series A round was led by Creandum, with participation from Y Combinator, Goat Capital, 10x Founders, and Session VC. The round also included backing from a group of prominent angel investors, reflecting broad investor confidence in Cerrion’s technology and growth potential.
Founded in 2021 by Karim Saleh and Nikolay Kobyshev, Cerrion develops artificial intelligence systems that leverage existing factory camera infrastructure to transform visual data into actionable operational insights. Its platform continuously monitors production lines to identify process deviations, quality defects, and safety risks, enabling operators to respond quickly and prevent issues from escalating into costly downtime or waste.
Cerrion’s AI video agents are designed to work alongside human teams on the factory floor, combining automated detection with human oversight to improve productivity and safety. The company’s technology is already deployed across manufacturing sites on three continents, serving customers in sectors such as glass, food, consumer packaged goods, and building materials. Among the companies using Cerrion’s platform are Unilever, Riedel, Schott Zwiesel, Stölzle Lausitz, Sisecam, and Verallia.
The newly raised capital will be used to expand Cerrion’s workforce across Europe and the United States and to further enhance the capabilities of its platform. The company plans to invest heavily in product development, extending its AI models beyond visual monitoring to support a wider range of manufacturing processes and use cases. This expansion is intended to meet increasing demand from manufacturers seeking more advanced automation and real-time decision support.
Cerrion’s growth comes at a time when manufacturers are facing mounting challenges, including supply chain volatility, labor shortages, and rising operational costs. Unplanned downtime remains a major issue for industrial operators, driving demand for solutions that can detect problems early and reduce production losses. Cerrion positions its technology as a way to address these challenges by turning existing camera systems into intelligent, autonomous monitoring tools.
The company reports strong commercial traction, with increasing adoption among large industrial customers. Its platform is designed to help manufacturers resolve issues faster and reduce downtime and scrap, delivering measurable improvements in operational efficiency. This performance-driven approach has helped Cerrion gain momentum in the industrial AI and smart manufacturing ecosystem.
Prior to the Series A round, Cerrion raised earlier funding, including a $5 million financing round that supported early product development and initial market expansion. That capital enabled the company to validate its technology in real-world factory environments and build relationships with major industrial clients.
Cerrion’s leadership views artificial intelligence as a transformative force for industries that have historically lagged in digitalization. By applying advanced computer vision and machine learning to existing infrastructure, the company aims to deliver practical, scalable AI solutions without requiring manufacturers to undertake costly system overhauls.
With fresh capital and a growing customer base, Cerrion is positioning itself to scale its platform globally and deepen its role in the evolution of smart factories. The Series A funding provides the resources needed to expand its team, advance its technology, and support manufacturers as they seek greater efficiency, safety, and resilience through automation.
