Battery Ventures, a prominent investment firm known for supporting innovative tech companies, has strategically participated in Second Front Systems’ (2F) $70 million Series C funding round. As part of their investment, Battery Ventures general partner Michael Brown will join the company’s board as an observer, underscoring their confidence in Second Front’s ability to enhance global security missions through advanced technology.

Founded to improve access to commercial technology for national and global security, Second Front Systems is led by CEO Tyler Sweatt. The Series C round was spearheaded by Salesforce Ventures, with Battery Ventures joining existing investors NEA, Moore Strategic Ventures, and Artis Ventures.

The new funding is expected to boost 2F’s capacity to deliver innovative software and technology solutions for both global security and commercial applications. “From day one, our vision has been to facilitate the integration of commercial technologies into global security efforts,” said Sweatt. “We’ve demonstrated our ability to remove barriers between commercial tech companies and the U.S. government, enabling more effective use of funds and ensuring mission-critical capabilities reach users faster.”

One of Second Front’s key products, Game Warden, allows for the secure deployment of commercial and government solutions in classified and regulated environments. Trusted by major organizations like Microsoft, Amazon Web Services, Learn to Win, and DEFCON AI, Game Warden ensures technology can be utilized efficiently in high-security settings.

Second Front is crucial for enhancing the technological agility of the U.S. government, particularly within the Pentagon and the Department of Defense (DoD). The company is also expanding its reach internationally, most notably through a partnership with NATO, highlighting its commitment to making cutting-edge technology accessible to allied governments worldwide.

Rob Keith, Partner at Salesforce Ventures and leader of the funding round, expressed optimism about Second Front’s role in transforming access to advanced technology for the U.S. and its allies. “We want the U.S. government to leverage innovative software deployment strategies, and Second Front is pivotal in bridging the gap between the DoD and technology,” Keith stated.

The funding will enhance existing platforms and support the development of new products aimed at both commercial and global security missions. Second Front plans to broaden its technological capabilities, accelerate product delivery, and expand its team to tackle a wider array of missions.

Recently, Second Front has strengthened its leadership by appointing Josh Bosquez as Chief Technology Officer (CTO), Jason Weiss as CTO for the public sector, and former U.S. Senator Martha McSally to its board of directors.

With this funding, Second Front Systems is well-positioned to continue delivering essential technology solutions for security missions at both national and international levels, driving innovation in global security through more efficient and cost-effective technology.
