Astor Raises $5 Million Seed Round to Expand AI-Powered Investment Advisory Platform

Astor, an artificial intelligence-powered investment advisory platform, has raised $5 million in seed funding to expand its technology, grow its team, and make personalized investment guidance more accessible to everyday investors. The round was led by Monashees, with participation from Y Combinator, Goodwater Capital, Gilgamesh Ventures, 468 Capital, Valutia, Sunshine Lake, and executives from Stripe and OpenAI. The company said the funding will be used to expand its product, engineering, and growth teams while continuing to develop its AI-driven financial guidance platform.

Founded by Bruno Koba and Daniel Tulha, Astor is building an AI-native investment advisory platform designed to provide personalized financial guidance to investors who may not have access to traditional wealth management services. The company is registered with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission and connects with users’ existing brokerage accounts to deliver investment recommendations through conversational AI experiences.

Monashees led Astor’s $5 million seed financing. The venture capital firm invests in technology companies and has backed businesses across sectors including fintech, software, and consumer technology. Monashees’ investment reflects growing interest in artificial intelligence applications that can expand access to financial services and provide consumers with more personalized digital experiences.

Y Combinator participated in the funding round after supporting Astor through its startup accelerator program. Y Combinator has backed thousands of early-stage companies and has become one of the most recognized startup accelerators globally. Astor’s participation in the program provided the company with access to mentorship, investor networks, and resources as it developed its AI-based advisory platform.

Goodwater Capital also participated in the seed round. The venture firm invests in consumer technology companies and focuses on startups developing products designed for broad consumer adoption. Its investment in Astor highlights the opportunity investors see in AI tools that help individuals manage personal finances and make more informed investment decisions.

Additional investors included Gilgamesh Ventures, 468 Capital, Valutia, and Sunshine Lake. Executives from Stripe and OpenAI also participated in the round, bringing additional technology expertise to Astor’s investor base.

Astor was created around the idea that high-quality investment advice has traditionally been available primarily to wealthy individuals who can afford human financial advisors. The company aims to use artificial intelligence to provide personalized guidance at a lower cost and make financial planning tools available to a broader group of investors.

The platform allows users to connect their brokerage accounts and receive AI-generated insights based on their portfolios and financial goals. Astor’s system is designed to provide recommendations through conversational interactions, allowing users to ask questions and receive guidance in a more accessible format compared with traditional financial advisory services.

The company’s technology focuses on helping investors better understand their portfolios and make decisions based on their personal circumstances. In addition to portfolio guidance, Astor considers broader financial factors when providing recommendations, including individual goals and financial planning needs.

Astor’s launch comes as artificial intelligence continues reshaping financial services. Traditional financial institutions and fintech companies are increasingly exploring AI tools that can automate analysis, improve customer experiences, and provide more personalized financial products. AI-powered advisory platforms are emerging as a new category within the broader fintech market, combining automated investing technology with conversational interfaces.

The company has attracted thousands of users since launch and reported more than $200 million in connected accounts. The new funding will allow Astor to continue improving its platform, expanding its product offerings, and reaching more investors seeking digital financial guidance.

Astor’s founders bring backgrounds in finance and technology. Bruno Koba previously worked as an investor at Monashees before becoming a founder, while Daniel Tulha has experience building financial technology products, including work at companies such as Stripe. Their combined experience in investing and software development shaped Astor’s approach to creating an AI-driven financial advisor.

The funding round positions Astor among a growing group of companies applying artificial intelligence to personal finance. As consumers increasingly seek digital-first solutions for managing money, the company aims to bridge the gap between automated investing tools and personalized financial advice.

With backing from Monashees, Y Combinator, Goodwater Capital, Gilgamesh Ventures, 468 Capital, Valutia, Sunshine Lake, and technology executives from Stripe and OpenAI, Astor plans to continue building its AI-powered investment advisory platform and expand access to personalized financial guidance for investors.
